  1. Oregon Cascades should do well with that deformation band hanging around.
  2. I got 16.5" on the valley floor east of Salem in 2008...How much did you get up there? 2008 seems a high bar to clear.
  3. Looks like a solid event here. My 2-4" prediction may be a bit conservative.
  4. Moderate snow falling at the moment. Into the weekend looking good on the 12z. Two surface lows track down the coast. Cold air comes in behind.
  5. The late week system looks good for up here and probably the Puget Sound area. Maybe a little to warm for sticking snow at the surface in Portland.
  6. 2-7" here is a broad forecast, but I get it and agree to an extent. It's going to have to do with overall precip and small scale features.
  7. I'm going to go with T-1" for the valley floor and PDX. Up to 2" above 500' for places like the West Hills and South Salem Hills. Going to forecast 2-4" of snow here overnight. Then maybe another T-1" for PDX metro with the deformation band tomorrow and T-2" here.
  8. Looks like about 1/3" of precip here since midnight. That band turned out to be pretty juicy.
  9. I didn't believe it when I saw it on the WRF last night, but just woke up to about 1/2" of snow. Looks like the cold air aloft overswept the fading deformation band that the low over California spun up.
  10. Very cold trough around Valentine's day. The 06z has MUCH more snow south of PDX than the 00z. Still looks great for PDX and north.
  11. The -5C 850mb line and 0C 925 mb line are now approaching BLI.
  12. The Thursday system is a little weak and meandering on the 06z GFS. Doesn't look like a big low land snow producer. At hour 126 some colder air starting to approach the border.
  13. It's really hard to imagine more than that other than an isolated location.
  14. NAM is really cold for the Puget Sound region during the day Monday. Mid 20s at 1pm.
  15. Through 10am Monday. Another model showing 4-5" here... Great for PDX, Salem up the east side of the valley does nice with a snow band....
  16. 3K NAM shows the snow being very banded. Lots of snow right over PDX though! And some bands in the east valley.
  17. NAM looks solid. Maybe not great for west valley, but pretty solid overall.
  18. I agree with the February coming in bunches. Down here 85,89,90 were good. As was 1993. Also the Februaries from 1922-1936 were incredible.
