00z continues the cold for us. Winter is very much alive. Crazy.

Valdez update: the river has drained from the road and crews are starting to clear out the ice that it left. The crews are giving the avalanche debris caution as there might be water still damed in it. 2 people were arrested for trying to walk the avalanche path, apparently they were trying to get their sick cat to the clinic.

Gotta love what's happening. Hope the cold stays on this side of the coast for a while. Maybe the west coast will see some snow as far south as the east coast has if things keep up. For some reason I am excited to have to warm up my car in the morning...

00z brings in the cold a bit quicker for us, and gives us a nice snow storm next Wednesday the 5th. Seems like every other run has switched the placement with this little guy. Also puts us in the ice box in the long range. This is going to be a very interesting month.

latest gfs keeps us in the arctic chiller for the whole run... might have to put my snowboard away and get some ice climbing gear out...

Right there with you. It's okay to have your own opinion, but bashing others for sharing their optimism is not good at all. Round and round the ridge goes, where it ends up... nobody knows.

Definitely looks like something interesting for the west is gonna happen after this ridge moves around a bit. A week or two of spring like conditions isn't so bad... Might even see some sunshine.

Picked up 2 inches of rain yesterday, started out as snow but quickly warmed up to above freezing all the way to 4000 ft. Another few wet days in the forecast. Lots of flooding all around SE AK. Sitka also broke a daily precipitation record. That is kind of shocking because Sitka is the rain king.
