    At this point historic cold and major arctic blast at the upper levels is off the table. However, someone from Salem to Longview should have a decent event tomorrow night and the Friday system looks like it could be a historic snow/ice even from someone between Bellingham and Eugene (most likely areas are Seattle south to Portland).

    UKMET is a great run for PDX metro. Two lows come in the perfect spot.

    The GEM is truly insane for Friday into Saturday. Send an AR into Oregon. Starts as cold rain, turns to freezing rain and finally snow for the Portland Metro area.

    Graphcast ran and it’s still cold and looks like a big snowstorm Seattle south to Portland. It’s not quite as cold as prior runs though, especially for NW Oregon

    Spire shows an epic overrunning event with the low that has been going well south on the GEM and Euro

    12z spire is in, looks a bit like the euro. But arctic air stalls out and becomes a big backdoor event.

    The Tuesday night system for NW oregon gives me a little warmer 1/10/17 vibe. Also falls on the 7 year anniversary of that event.

    The GFS made a significant shift southwest with the bulk of the cold. This really puts it in perspective.
