The Swamp

Once the switch is flipped we will get cold. Probably not until March though and we'll have 35 degree mixed rain and snow for a month.

Still 54 degrees here in The Swamp. Absolutely fabulous day today. Had sun and nearly 60. Got lots of yard work done. Going to settle in soon here and watch the Huskies whoop some a**.

56 and beautiful sunshine. wow. what a day. what happened to the AR? Does it seem like every rainstorm is now called an AR for dramatic effect by the media? We used to just have a rain storm and dry off and then have another one.

Looks like winter will slide east for a while. 9 times out of 10 it does. Waive to it as it slides into Montana and east.

Is it going to get cold tonight? I can't tell but ordinarily clear skies like this would lead to frigid morning lows. I think 32 is possible here in The Swamp.

Raked all my leaves and my neighbors leaves today. I need nice clean fresh grass to make snow monsters I'mmaaa build starting December 10th.

Color me impressed but it's down to 37 in The Swamp. Could be another cold night. Throw an extra blanky on the bed.

Very crisp afternoon sitting at 45 degrees. Put up some Christmas lights. A little early this year but looking at the forecast and seeing cold and rain made me motivated to get some done today. It's going to snow on or around December 10th. It just has to. I feel it.

It doesn't have to get blocky eventually. It just doesn't. The weather will do what the weather will do. Sit back and watch. No amount of model riding or wish casting is going to change what happens.

Crisp outside this morning with 41 in the swamp. I've been told the models are starting to look good around day 17.

I'm not seeing anything in the models showing a arctic blast. Usually it shows up after these types of AR events. Jim, you say six weeks or so? That seems like a long time. Some co-workers today were discussing this issue and it seems like it is usually much sooner. Dang. We are almost out to the first week of December now in the models and we aren't seeing the goodies.

I'm not into stats and I can't quote years or anything but I remember as a kid when we had these nice warm fall/winter days sometimes it was followed by the mother of all arctic dumps into our region. Fingers crossed.

I hit 65 here in the swamp. What a nice day it turned out being.
