Why do the hour 384 maps always look so good? I'm on board, someday it will happen.
Lower Solar, SSW3, Nina, -PNA, MJO 7 and many other reasons....

We are only allowed 10 winter cancel/Un cancel’s before we are permanently locked out of the forum. I had lumpy rain this morning, the EPS looked way better, the modern day MRF says history will be made soon, the Mariners will not make the playoffs until next year, a plane took off on a snowy runway in California, and Andrew said we are all being way too negative.
There you go!
Oh and FROGS!!Nice! A more comprehensive list than I came up with. I knew a missed a few things things...

What did I miss today?
How soon the frogs will be croaking, will the Mariners ever win again, can the parallel GFS be trusted and Jim is onboard, but others are not.

I moved from a relatively snow starved place to a place that averages 90 inches. Never get tired of snow in December. The later you get in winter, the less exciting it gets, but still beautiful to watch. But with a small snowfall, like 2 or 3 inches, you hardly notice it, especially later in the winter. Though never as exciting as snow in Western Washington, since there it is an event, the busted snow disappointments are not a big seal because you know there will be more chances soon.
Yeah, when a snow storm busts here on the west side it is very disappointing...we never know if we'll get another chance the rest of winter. And some winters we don't get anything at all. Maybe I'll have to move some day.

A few flakes here now.
Well it started, but looks like just rain here in Fircrest with maybe a few flakes mixed in.

There is definitely a point of diminishing returns with snow... and there is such a thing as too much snow. I think Andrew and I both got there in February 2019.
Good point. If I lived in a place or elevation that received a lot of snow, I would likely get tired of it at some point, I suppose... just never had that experience. My wife lived in Alaska for a while years ago and she has mentioned how dirty the snow eventually gets over the long winter. I don't think she understands my obsession.

So there have been preference wars about preferred kinds of weather fairly frequently on this forum. But I'm wondering is there anyone posting or lurking on here who does NOT like snow? It seems we are all snow starved, snow loving people. And there is never too much snow!

Getting a few small flakes falling in Tacoma. Very light but it’s definitely snow.
Not seeing anything here yet on the west side of town.

I hate to say it...but these look fairly similar to what we were seeing around 10 days ago for this week.
Got to happen sometime though, right?

Compact SUV. Leaning towards either a Mazda CX-5, Subaru Forester, or Honda CR-V. The CX-5 has a significant lead at the moment based off of reviews and online pics/videos. Love the look of it and it supposedly handles really well. I'm excited to test drive it. CR-V is more 'blah' in the looks category but I have to include it since it's Honda.
I like the looks of the CX-5 also, though we ended up buying a 2016 Hyundai Tucson a couple of years ago. Very solid car but not AWD. Probably would go that route next time. Nissan Rogue seems good also.

Still foggy here. Did get down to 32 though.

I'm thinking about planting a palm tree in my backyard this spring. Any suggestions for the best species in this Mediterranean climate?
I'd go with the Windmill Palm, Trachycarpus fortunei. They do great in the PNW.

Fred should release the Western Weather App. You can customize to get different forecasts. Tailored to your individual preferences.
I love that idea...fake weather! Not just fake cold....

I did not post any daffodil pics... but ours were way up in late January 2019 and then buried under 4 feet of snow a couple weeks later. And then picked up right where they off and promptly bloomed when the snow finally melted in March.
Yeah, sorry, I started it

Ours look the same here.
They were a little yellow from where leaves were partially covering them. I think they are actually on schedule and no, I am not pulling out the forks! I still think we will get lowland snow. I don't need arctic air to be happy, I just want some accumulating snow in my back yard!

GFS is being real funky with the the on/off closed off low feature it keeps showing. It showed up, then it was gone, then it showed up again for the 6z, now it’s gone again.
The good news is that the cutoff feature seems to be anomalous, as no other models including the Euro picks up on it. Ever.
I wouldn’t trust the GFS model inside 3 days let alone a week out.
I trust it when it shows extreme cold and snow

This forum is entertaining. Alt accounts and fantastic snow maps!
