  1. Very "January" map, when it's warmer here than in Columbia basin.
  2. Joke is successful! I'm really impressed by the posts from last couple of days, I kept reading and posting less because of how heated things got, was a real roller coaster. Almost better than reading the forum during SEA NWS CWA snowstorms.
  3. December and January don't deliver? I thought Bozeman was fairly protected from chinooks! I feel like even Missoula can string 20 days below freezing consecutively several times since 1936.
  4. No Mud Season! I don't know why you would want snow to melt quickly, things are much messier that way. I know ours will be terrible here in late March - early April. My 12-15" snow here has 4-5" of water depending on how much fog hoar frost we got over last 3 months. At least 2 crust layers in the middle, one at 6" before the February madness and one in the middle of the new snow before the big storm from a quick warm up day in middle of February to about 35 or so. Not to mention that it all had a chance to facet during the subzero days early this week. With a fairly mild forecast of low to mid 30s next week, not much melting will happen until late March... At that point our climo can consistently deliver 60s and sunshine during the day, or no freezes at night with clouds. It's gonna be one big mess in this town where we don't keep consistent snow cover in March.
  5. Jesse might be taking the troll crown from Dewey on this forum at this rate.
  6. UW is a great school. I would definitely not recommend it, and would echo other concerns that posters in this thread have raised. On other hand, WSU doesn't really have anything substantial going for it either, it's really just a party school. I know cougars will jump on me saying I didn't go there, but whatever. Really wish our state's flagships weren't such polar opposites, I'd rather have the Oregon's situation but with bigger state's funding & opportunities.
  7. Deformer! Deformer! Deformer! A cool looking mesoscale feature.
  8. Yeah I definitely prefer my climate over yours(except this February, because it's been unusually cold). I think ideally something like Seeley/Swan valley but slightly warmer + more fall precip would be great even better.
  9. It's definitely one really really angry looking CZ on the radar!
  10. Just evening out the snowfall between Hood Canal and Mossman's location, no big deal
  11. Finally getting some snowbowl(pardon the pun) making snow here. 27F, but 700mb temps are above -10c before the cold front, and it is 30F at 7000'.
  12. My parents were not happy about me snowboarding when I was a kid. I snowboard a lot now...
  13. Absolutely! Cold c-zones(1000' snow levels or lower) usually don't hit Snoqualmie pass as much for some reason, only the warm ones do that barely make it snow at pass level after a cold front do for some reason. It's still better than most other NW resorts that end up going into a ridge after cold front rain however.
  14. then the convergence zone comes and it refreshes half the time(the other half of the time Stevens gets it). Still Snoqualmie pass has the best accessible snow in NW near Seattle Metro area if you count Alpental & its gates(versus Baker/Stevens/Crystal equivalents). You could make an argument for Mission ridge in a wetter than average year, or Crystal Mountain in a warm year though.
  15. These places torch frequently, and don't much better snow wise than deep basin locations. Especially John Day. Always finds a way to get downsloped or be the center of the advancing warm nose towards Pendleton/Walla Walla.
  16. Maybe the resident sun angle expert can explain why it feels warm despite it actually being cold?!
  17. It happens every time the Euro shows snow for PDX this winter.
  18. PDT radar hasn't failed once last month, and neither has PDX seen a metro wide snowfall. maybe if the technicians slack off on the maintenance you might have a chance at scoring snow however.
  19. You guys know if you keep the airport and downslope trolling going on, Jesse's backyard won't see any of that Eurosnow on the ground this week.
