Haven't seen a snowflake in hours here. Just lots of heavy sleet. It is really starting to add up on the ground though, not as much as snow would have, but it is still cool. Still think I could see big snowflakes as things wind down this evening.

Just getting tons of sleet now. The crazy wind gusts make it painful to be out there.

Getting some pretty heavy sleet action right now. Hoping it changes back to snow after 2pm or so.

Up to 16 here. It's all over.

We had about an hour of just light snow after the initial craziness. It has changed to mostly sleet now, with a few snowflakes still floating around. Still 15 degrees!

No accumulation here. Light snow/sleet mix with a brief period of big flakes.
I don't think you know what accumulation means.

Definitely still some sleet mixed in depending on the intensity, but this is overall very epic. Down to 15 degrees!

In 2008 I remember mixed snow and sleet falling in Portland. Look out the window, and it looked like the sort of wet slop that would fall when the temperature was in the mid 30's. Go outside and it was around 20˚F with everything frozen and accumulating.
Yep, the exact similar situation here this morning. Crazy looking out there with the wind!

It is really interesting how I'm getting big fat flakes as if it is our normal 34 degree snow. The slightly warm midlevel is making them not look like 16 degree snowflakes.

The warm layer peaks over the next 4-5 hours. The low is moving SE, either way that warm layer will be less of an issue for you by early afternoon,
Yep, the HRRR shows the Portland area ending with a nice snow band as the low moves inland to our south.

I’m not sure if the video will come through but this is outside right now. Crazy, never experienced anything like this here. Currently 13.6 degrees.
Awesome spot for the storm. Hopefully you don't lost power!

Pdx at 18 degrees, gusts to 40 with snow falling.
We don't get to experience that very often.

Wow, that's some warm air coming in over the top(or you posted this much earlier). Not sure what time you posted this. I've got 20f and sleet at 7:45
She is way down in Eugene right now.

Mix of sleet and snow at the start of the main event. The bigger story might be the wind. It is really getting strong even here. My power already flickered.

The EUG airport has been reporting snow through their crapasss automated system for at least the last 30 minutes. It's all lies.
Yeah, that's why it's nice to have live reports from local weenies.

What are the chances looking like that salem will convert back to Snow later?
Is it sleet right now? The chances aren't great that it ever turns to snow that far south IMO.

We'll need an update from our McMinnville poster soon to let us know if that heavier precip. is sleet or snow.
Well the airport is officially reporting freezing rain.

Everything is already nicely covered in a layer of snow. I hope I don’t hear the ping of sleet for a few more hours at least.
