  1. I was wrong assuming this ice would be gone here by now. Direct sunlight and 35 outside now, still slippery spots between the vehicles and the front door. C'mon sun do your job today!
  2. At approximately 5:56pm there was a gust that rumbled the whole wall facing ESE in the living room. I haven't heard one like that in a long time. (about as loud as 02/06/2015 wind event) No spotters reported so far on any wind. Airport didn't get higher than 40.
  3. Temp dropped to 34, large flakes now. Between 7-8am winds got considerably stronger. Seemed like 50+ up the hill.
  4. Any ice in town should be gone now. We had a "evening high" of 41. Occasionally it rained. Now off/on showers, upper 30's and a mini gust storm (but a moderate one at that). Looks like it could last for hours.
  5. Just now reached freezing. I'm not sure about today starting with showers then later progressing to snow. Based on history on the east slopes, up to about 36-38 degrees I have a higher chance of seeing flakes than rain. Only seen 33 degree rain like once.
  6. I doubt that's even the same analogy to describe the winter we are having... Food is exceptional. Edit: lol ^ me and Jesse noticed right away.
  7. Region wise, half the PNW (or more than half) has had a solid almost 2 months of good winter, and looks like potentially another month left of what we've seen, maybe just less severe. If Portland ends up with 3 months of off/on winter storms, snow/cold. That's impressive and way longer than their typical winter.
  8. And I find it peculiar that the last 1 day blast that was a foot or more of snow was that winter here in K-Falls.
  9. Yup. Between 1920 and 1950 there have been small periods where 2-4 consecutive winters would be under average snowfall, and even 1 or 2 considerably under average by a big margin about every handful of winters. There was even a 5" winter '33-'34 in Klamath Falls. Last half of the 60's wasn't very great for this area. '65-'66: 25.80" '66-'67: 13.00" '67-'68: 7.00" '68-'69: 21.50" '69-'70: 26.50" And this was when the seasonal averages were higher than today, probably closer to 42-45" in a winter is what was considered my normal.
  10. The most March snow our old station recorded (with what data was available) was 20.20" in 1948.
  11. Over here that would be inconceivable for March. That would be a several decades March snow in K-Falls. Do you remember the max depth in March 2012 there?
  12. That was my first time I've seen a shelf cloud. There was even a minor roll cloud under much of the lines. Unfortunately by the time I got the cloud porn the event was slowly unfolding near the Portland Metro. Haven't seen clouds like that though since 2009.
  13. Since it's going to be 2008 again. June 2009 severe thunderstorm outbreak again? CFS - WHAT DOES IT SAY FOR 06/04?
  14. ^ Key word up there. There are times where its between 55-58, occasionally 60+ degree lows but they are not incredibly common. Depending on whether or not there is monsoonal flow it could be somewhat humid but half the time it's dry.
  15. Bend/Pendleton average many more severe storms per year than down here. I would like to relocate somewhere near the Blue Mountains, my chances go up 3-4 times. Hailstorms too, here I rarely get any. Or at least since I moved here.
  16. I was about to mention that earlier. I happen to live in a house without AC. July 2014 and June 2015 would have been close to hell holes without thunderstorms. With an average indoor temp of 86-88 degrees (with highs of 90 inside) I would drink the next t'storm first chance I get.
  17. I have to do runs in 60-70 degree weather. Florida would simply be anti-Timmy Supercell.
  18. Looks like half-most of this mid week event is rain. Snow definitely hasn't been the focus on NWS AFD's lately. You sure you do? j/k
  19. Recent events prove that historically gigantic snows can still happen. You give up too easily
  20. December here was more or less mediocre of a month. It was colder than 2015 but still could be much colder and snowier. January is the huge month in this part of Oregon.
  21. Last 50+ here was 11/15. I did have 49 on 12/09 but a bunch of upper 30's and low 40's otherwise.
  22. So far NWS Medford hasn't hinted at anything huge when snow returns, but man the AFD's are getting gigantic.
  23. I was only 13 for a low here. We've driven past the border before but regarding actual areas of residence, nope. I've only lived within this state. But my parents were raised in CA and lived down there until 1990.
