If I get the minimum 5" out of the 5-10" warned for me tomorrow evening and night, and assuming the other 20 days of January goes along at a normal pace, I'll get at least 38-42 inches out of this month. Pretty crazy imagining this. The last January with more than 3 feet was 1996 (38.20). There was a 31.20 inch January in 1993 but you'd have to go even further than this for the previous 30-36+ inch January. That would be as far back as 1964.

Moderate rain now. KLMT may not be reporting this (when do they ever? lol) but it's significantly increased in intensity.

If not for today's rain, next event would push my depth up to near 30".

I can't wait for some severe thunderstorms. Golfball size hail and funnel clouds, and clouds that freak the hell out of you.

There's a possibility I may go the entire winter with a max depth of 21.00". For statistics sake I was trying to shoot for 24-30 depths but not sure if that's likely at this point now.

Jan 7th - 8th, noon to noon comparison. Places like steps have lots almost half their snow and railing is totally cleaned. Drifts are about level with my current pack and looks like the pack went down 4-5" or so. Note yesterday the snow was halfway up the fence in the yard. Raining a decent amount this morning. Over a quarter inch so far. If the pack were an inch or so, it would be washing away, but not 21". lol it'll take forever.

Yeah, mostly true. I recall a few all-day moderate rain events in winter here but definitely no where close to a real express in Portland.

Well today definitely panned out as forecast. Winter Storm Warning said 3-6 inches, I got 5" today. Most interesting was the part entering the snow event. It was still arctic with temps below 10 when it started to snow. (just yesterday I had a low of -19 with a high of 7, hadn't cooled much that next evening/night, stayed above 0.) Then quickly climbed from 14-32 degrees from 7:53am to 9:53am. Eventually light rain fell in the afternoon, occasionally mixing with flakes at 34-37 degrees.
