  1. Absolutely perfect Spring weather. Just got back inside from 70 degrees and crystal clear skies with Dewpoint of 30 and 23% humidity.

This whole week I'll be having similar weather. No moisture in the near future showing up. Hoping I don't see anymore snow until November. That's what happened last year.

  2. In 2012 my last hard freeze was a low of 28 on May 18th

In 2013 my last hard freeze was a low of 25 on May 1st.

Here are my last sub 32 lows past 3 years I've experienced.

    29 on 06/08/2011

    31 on 06/09/2012

    30 on 06/14/2013

I don't know what the record latest is though, but it is sometime in July. I've experienced one night in the low 30's in late August last year.

I've heard reports of late night snow on 4th of July a few times here, but don't know where I'd find the info for earliest or latest freeze.

  3. GFS has consistently shown some warmer weather approaching in the latter parts of April. At least the better runs anyway (12z / 00z) No need to get all your panties in a bunch :P

And looks like another real Spring for me down here. I have been spared from cold weather during my last 2 Springs in K-Falls. 2011 was a cooler than normal year, gave me a rather rude perspective on what Spring's are really like in southern east slopes. Can still see a few nights off/on where I would wake up to a dusting and get afternoon graupel showers but the weather is dominantly warmer.

  4. Pure misery there.    I am telling you... people are at their wits end after two horrible winters and now springs in a row.

One of the stations there had a story about coping with the horrific weather and the importance of talking to other people rather leaving it bottled up.

Spring started 15 days ago and we call it quits..

By May it will be alright! :P

  5. Btw I wish it were easier to upload photos on here. There shouldn't be such a strict limit on file size. I had a sunrise picture to accompany my above post but it won't let me attach it.

I use Tinypic, has up to 5MB upload limit. Just be sure to use the brackets on both ends of the links.

Oh, Facebook downsizes and grains the hell out of my photos. I try to refrain from uploading on FB if I wanted to share something.

  6. Not to be whining but why can't the Pacific Northwest cash in on snow/cold like the East Coast has been the last several years.

If it weren't for the Feb cold spell this would've been a pretty lame winter but even at that it was only for a few days.  We seem to always be stuck in between everything.

I am actually glad we got the heavy rain in March because it was pretty much the only way to have weather excitement.    I think the 2008 cold spell was more impressive because it was slightly more widespread.

When we do get cold/snow it seems to be more localized to certain cities/towns then they used to be.

Sounds like the Cascades are calling your name :P

  7. Too warm for sticking snow down here today. Doubt moisture lasts into the night.

43 / 21 today. Getting partly sunny right now, earlier I saw popcorn like small cumulus clouds to my south/southeast. Looks like the ones in the Rogue Valley have been trying to do something (weak boomers later?).

  8. Nothing came out of yesterday evening's snowfall. Stopped literally minutes after I posted around 7:30pm. Didn't make it to sticking on roads yet, so that does not qualify as actual accumulation (only on cars, roofs and grass).

Today looks like another chilly 40 degree afternoon. Very blustery out there along with an occasional wet snow shower.

  9. I'm not expecting "glowing responses" to anything I post, but I do expect a meager level of respect and civility, given the fact that everything I've done here has been well-intentioned.

I make a few "out-of-region" posts now and again, but the majority of my contributions are scientific in nature and apply to this subforum in one way or another...at least I hope they can be viewed as contributions...

Who gives a rat's azz whether or not someone lives in a "snowier" climate than someone else? Is that what drives the level of "respect" and/or "acceptance" you get around here? If true, that's quite sad, in my opinion.

I'm not admin or anything but do try your best not to stray off topic from these subforums. I'm a t'storm/supercell fanatic but I go over to the midwest forums if I want to see info on that. Same thing if I want to see East Coast weather info. I know there are a handful of 'not so bright individuals' on here but don't let them get on your nerves. I live in a snowier climate too, just as Andrew does. We've all been talked back at, at one point or another, I just brush it off.

  10. Back to snowing in Klamath Falls. This time it's sticking on things especially grass and on roofs. Looking at radar though, there should not be much snow at all, moisture coverage is sparse at best. I'm guessing between 1/4" to 1/2" total until morning. Drought continues ;)

  11. My brother texted me this evening saying that it was snowing in Klamath Falls. Said there was no accumulation however. I may be going down there the weekend of the 12-13th. GFS progs a pretty cold trough that weekend.

By the time its cold enough for it to stick there won't be moisture for it. Skies are clearing as I type :P

    Winter is over! lol

  12. I had my first t'storm day for 2014. Wasn't anything too exciting, 1 flash and a couple rumbles. The clouds though were exceptionally dark for this time of year. This was about 7:15pm.

This was close to being a thundersnow event, it's been snowing (not sticking) for about 30 minutes outside.
  13. "Cold" likely being highs in the 47-52 range. Not exactly mindblowing stuff.

Think he meant the southern Oregon mountains could once again receive more snow later in March. Though I'll believe it when it gets closer to the 7 day window. Models flip flop.

Also the highs still stay above freezing like Andrew mentioned above. I'll be around low 40's or at lowest upper 30's allowing daytime melting.

  14. Nice. Should this be another addition to the "Tim's Laws of Weather" book?

If anyone goes against one of Tim's laws of weather, he harasses them endlessly on this forum, FWIW.

Gee, attacking others for a differing preference in weather? and posting a model run? LOL

Surprised I wasn't attacked like that for preferring rain over snow
