  1. Yup. Between 1920 and 1950 there have been small periods where 2-4 consecutive winters would be under average snowfall, and even 1 or 2 considerably under average by a big margin about every handful of winters. There was even a 5" winter '33-'34 in Klamath Falls. Last half of the 60's wasn't very great for this area. '65-'66: 25.80" '66-'67: 13.00" '67-'68: 7.00" '68-'69: 21.50" '69-'70: 26.50" And this was when the seasonal averages were higher than today, probably closer to 42-45" in a winter is what was considered my normal.
  2. The most March snow our old station recorded (with what data was available) was 20.20" in 1948.
  3. Over here that would be inconceivable for March. That would be a several decades March snow in K-Falls. Do you remember the max depth in March 2012 there?
  4. That was my first time I've seen a shelf cloud. There was even a minor roll cloud under much of the lines. Unfortunately by the time I got the cloud porn the event was slowly unfolding near the Portland Metro. Haven't seen clouds like that though since 2009.
  5. Since it's going to be 2008 again. June 2009 severe thunderstorm outbreak again? CFS - WHAT DOES IT SAY FOR 06/04?
  6. ^ Key word up there. There are times where its between 55-58, occasionally 60+ degree lows but they are not incredibly common. Depending on whether or not there is monsoonal flow it could be somewhat humid but half the time it's dry.
  7. Bend/Pendleton average many more severe storms per year than down here. I would like to relocate somewhere near the Blue Mountains, my chances go up 3-4 times. Hailstorms too, here I rarely get any. Or at least since I moved here.
  8. I was about to mention that earlier. I happen to live in a house without AC. July 2014 and June 2015 would have been close to hell holes without thunderstorms. With an average indoor temp of 86-88 degrees (with highs of 90 inside) I would drink the next t'storm first chance I get.
  9. I have to do runs in 60-70 degree weather. Florida would simply be anti-Timmy Supercell.
  10. Looks like half-most of this mid week event is rain. Snow definitely hasn't been the focus on NWS AFD's lately. You sure you do? j/k
  11. Recent events prove that historically gigantic snows can still happen. You give up too easily
  12. December here was more or less mediocre of a month. It was colder than 2015 but still could be much colder and snowier. January is the huge month in this part of Oregon.
  13. Last 50+ here was 11/15. I did have 49 on 12/09 but a bunch of upper 30's and low 40's otherwise.
  14. So far NWS Medford hasn't hinted at anything huge when snow returns, but man the AFD's are getting gigantic.
  15. I was only 13 for a low here. We've driven past the border before but regarding actual areas of residence, nope. I've only lived within this state. But my parents were raised in CA and lived down there until 1990.
  16. You would have been missed on the forums had you left. You should get something good before the season is over. Many places so far in the PNW have gotten events they hadn't seen in a while. I already consider this a season to remember, and it's still unfolding. Come Spring time maybe consider taking a brief trip to another area of the US, it'll be a refreshment and change of environment. Heck I haven't even done that once myself and I plan to one day. Being in the same place every day, every week can get tiring. Just a sobering thought I've never even left the border of Oregon once, and I know many people around me who have been 20-30 different places even as kids.... There are others on your same boat.
  17. Any big snows coming up on models? And when posters are 500+ miles to your south? Gosh, what happened.
  18. Holy crap. My mean in Dec 2013 was 22.8 and was my 4th coldest December in Klamath Falls. That's impressive.
  19. Yes, some folks who live up there said with confidence they saw -30 on 12/08/2013. We get many people from nearby towns commuting in K-Falls and we were definitely not the coldest here. Unsure if all of them have personal stations though.
  20. Ah, still learning the ins-and-outs of all this. KLMT had an all time low of -25 on 01/23/1962. I'm sure a few older stations may have had slightly cooler (KLMT only goes back to 1948 or something like that). The station that was set up in 1887 probably saw a few more lows like that.
  21. I got a serious question. What would Dec 2013 had done here if I had an 18-24" pack here?? lol -30 to -35 at KLMT? There was little snowpack at all in Dec 2013 here. Something to consider.
  22. Since '09 I've owned one of those leather/wool jackets, got it from Burlington Coat Factory as a gift, think it was a $125 item (and on sale). It's come in handy all these years. And good thing it still fits so I don't have to buy another one.
  23. Yup it is! When I lived there my coldest temperature I ever experienced I think was 6 degrees In Hillsboro in Dec 2009. That was a school morning and I kept hearing a bunch of other students complaining how cold it was. I thought it was interesting that not many people had very big jackets, so I looked more prepared for it.
