Lake King by Duvall/Monroe gets up to 1400 ft. Not very populated so I can never find snow stats unfortunately

2 years ago i missed some land on gold mountain at 1200ft, there is a small area of public land otherwise its state land or state forest. it was 40 acres. I would of been in heaven there. Massive difference in winter climate at that level.

That’s why I would LOVE to have a place out at Lake Cavanaugh!! It’s about 20 or so minutes east of me and just over 1,000’. They probably have over a foot up there right now. Whenever i just get missed due to elevation I run up there for my snow fix!

Is there a bunch pf property for sale there?

Ran up to the area just to the east of my house and 200’ above my elevation and it looks like about 6”. Only about 2” here at work which is 200’ under my elevation. Being sandwiched in the middle of those two locations (both under a mile from my house) I got 4” so that makes sense.

This is still 4 inches. Most models are showing some kind of moisture on me tonight, I just dont understand the dynamics making it happen.

Easy, you want to look at the wind at 850mb, over the last few days it has been ripping from the west and sw, tonight it switches from the north and north west so you will have upslope.

Yeah my kids are very excited that they canceled school! (Their little private school in Burlington follows what the public school does)

Reminds me of when I was a kid back in March 1989 and they canceled school last minute!
Anyway, plowing done, my wife called me to say there were trees and branches down on 300th as she was making her way to I-5 that she had to navigate around. Shocked we didn’t lose power. If this would have kept up for another few hours it would have been tree carnage!
Just over 4” on the day, 9” on the season.

    How long did it snow

  6. I give it a c+. The 2 reasons it wasn't an f were the 15 degrees at work at 4:30 in the afternoon was amazing and the snow rate today was 4.4 inches per hr which is amazing for any lowland area in the nation. Normally those rates are high in the mountains or in lake effect snow. That was the fastest I have seen 2 inches fall here since 2019. Decent chance this is the last snow chance for places below 1000ft the next 2 days so it was a good way to send the winter off here. This is the first winter since 2016 I haven't had a large snow of more than 8 inches.
