  1. Yuck. Keep that dusting away from me.
  2. WHOAAA. GFS I see you. Showing some intense wraparound snow on Monday, possibly thundersnow for NEB. I'll take it!
  3. I don't know if you guys are aware, but the flooding down by Davenport on the Illinois side is some of the worst I've seen. I drove through the area on Sunday and was blown away--there are houses off the Rock River that are almost completely underwater because of the ice jams. It's insane. They're at the point where they'll likely have to be demolished afterwards. Speaking of flooding, anyone remember 2008 in Nebraska/Iowa? 4. I like how all of us out here are on board with warmth. Winter really does suck unless it snows (atleast for me). Warm weather is amazing, and having severe weather compliment it makes it so much better than winter IMO. I hope we can keep it active around here. Maybe we should start a facebook page for severe weather for the forum, and we can do live videos of us chasing when storms are coming in our area or something. I think that'd be cool, but just an idea! I hate when I see a storm go through Chicago per se, and I see "Hazard... 80 mph and baseball sized hail" only to see pictures on a website later and no actual footage of the storm. I think severe weather can be just as amazing as snowstorms, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we can all be active on here when it comes time!
  5. You guys can take this one for us. It's already 50 degrees out and am now left wondering why I even want snow. It is seriously amazing outside. Bring me Spring already!
  6. And I kept it alive from 2012-2014. You’re welcome.
  7. Came down for a good clip there for a sec. roads are fine though (too warm?)
  8. Same thing here m8. Just rain-- maybe one or two pieces of sleet but rain for sure. Nasty.
  9. HRRR is now showing hardly any action this afternoon. Been progressively drying out each run. Not thinking tonight will be all that great-- hope i'm wrong though!
  10. Was up there for the first time a few months ago, I think you'll forget about Iowa's weather for awhile when you're there absolutely incredible area. This is probably for the wrong thread, but the 6z GFS (and 12z, though too warm) had the second Colorado low mid next week bombing out over us. It's an absolute dream to even see this, the reflectivity on this run has heavy thundersnow and drops 2' in Eastern Neb. I know it's far out, but it was cool to see!
  11. HRRR coming pretty dang close to ice storm warning criteria for LNK on the last run. What a nightmare this'll be on top of the snow we got last night.
  12. NAM has almost .4" ice between OMA/LNK. That's well within the ice storm warning criterion right?
  13. It is? I thought when I looked it only showed like 2” max?
  14. ICON hits us good. The ratios for this storm look awful for anyone who gets hit by it though, so I don't think it's worth getting worked up about yet.
  15. It's rain my friend. Remember the February '16 blizzard setup? I think it'll be similar. EDIT: Just kidding, I Steve Harvey'd. It actually smacks LNK/OMA. Direct hit, that would be crazy blizzard conditions. EDIT #2: Looks like ratios are low, unfortunately. Still a good hit.
  16. HRRR has some spots in between OMA and LNK getting .2"+ of ice accumulation tonight.
  17. RIP your sanity. Terrible conditions going on down there, I feel for you bud. I only have so much room to complain, what you're dealing with this year is a nightmare.
  18. That was a great year for sure. We're also at the 10 year anniversary of 2008 severe weather season, which was probably the most insane year I can remember. This year so far winter-wise seems pretty similar to what happened that year. Granted I'm terrible at comparisons, I just am going off of what I can remember. That said, I think we have a great setup for this year!
  19. This is a tad off topic, but I just read that this is the least active severe weather "winter" season since 2003-2004. Anyone else remember how severe weather season turned out that year? I don't know about you all, but my gosh, I cannot WAIT for spring this year! I have a good feeling that it will be amped up for most of us, and maybe we'll see some high risks this year. I can't complain about last year, I had some incredible storms right in my backyard. Just to remind you guys, here's some pictures I got last year:
  20. This storm tomorrow, if it wouldnt be for the dang high pressure, would be an absolute legendary Colorado low for all of us, on top of what we have. Wish that hp didnt ruin it :/
  21. this band is moving due east, and it extends all the way to Colorado. South Lincoln jackpot?
