When I lived in Philly, I’d regularly drive two hours to a Safeway in Delaware to get one. When that store closed, I drove to DC.

That said, given that most Canadians think that semitransparent water color paint passed off as coffee at Tim’s is better than anything you’d find at a Starbucks or that a Timbit is somehow a food group, I’m not surprised. Such a shame that for a nation with a disproportionately high number of Michelin star’d restaurants and even with the Quebecois pulling most of the culinary weight, Tim Hortons is considered “good Canadian fare”.

McDonald’s has better coffee than Tim’s.  To my knowledge McDonalds actually took over Tim’s original coffee blend supplier years ago.  McDonalds coffee in Canada is what Tim’s coffee used to be.  I don’t know anybody that thinks Tim’s is good. Just convenient and fast. I do like their bacon grilled cheese though.

Can't help but wonder if we aren't already doing the same thing here in Whatcom County.  Someone posted on a community FB group asking if anyone knew why the water level at the lake was so high.

Just checked the level, and they already have it a 314 feet, which they usually don't try to achieve until mid-April.  Its usually just shy of 313 feet this time of year.

Bc snowpack is 34% below average.  The upper reaches of the Skagit River has a snowpack just 30% of average.

I have never even heard of Whitetail lol.  Whitefish, however, is packed to the gills with Canadian-owned second homes.  Mostly from Calgary.  We are Baja Alberta.

The internet says the population of Whitetail is 9.  😂. They have 120 acres that they lease to a large farm next door.

Well that's goods news! If me and my wife decide to move back to Whitefish/Columbia falls in a few years, which we are heavily considering, we thankfully will not have to live in the same area as Cascadia_Wx!

My uncle is from Whitetail Montana. He still owns the old family farmhouse out there.  The town is basically deserted now by the sounds of it.  He still loves it there though.  Drives back there from Vancouver a few times a year.

    One can dream.

It's going to hit 80 at PDX this weekend, and Cascadia_Wx will be so miserable that he ends up moving to Barrow Alaska. ITS COMING!!!

He used to make a lot of noise about moving to Montana but that seems to have passed over the years.

  6. Sort of interesting that some places will see two separate wind events in the same day today.  The front earlier brought wind gusts to 60mph at Saturna island earlier.  The next front is quickly approaching and winds are already back up to 46mph and should top 60mph late this evening.

Post-strong niño summers have the highest frequency of derecho activity and overall severe weather activity across western Appalachia. And a longer convective season too. Yeah I’d be bullish if I lived there.

Very bad omen. Niño winters that end warm are almost always followed by horrible summers out this way. I was hoping for a 1958-like base state evolution (still theoretically possible) but it seems the IPWP extension will wait another year.

Summer of 1958 was just a touch on the warm side out west. 🥵 🔥

  8. Environment Canada is on board for a pretty major wind for the coastline of southern Vancouver island tonight. SE winds gusting over 60mph.  We will likely be Sheltered here in Shawnigan Lake as these events are usually most severe within a couple miles of the shoreline.

I'll take the bullets. I got my plot of land here and will keep it till I die.

His worry about a grave summer isn't unfounded given the last decade here and an early ridge can bring PTSD, so I get it.

I have to say your plot of land looks amazing.  What a location and what a view.  I would never give that up either.

I still watch my back for 7ft tall angry Dutch guys carrying a sun lamp. Luckily it’s pretty easy to hear their wooden shoes coming.

I’m only 2 meters tall not 7 ft.  But you might have me confused with someone else.  Definitely not an angry person.

You sure you aren’t freaking out about the seasons turning.  You seem a little on edge today. 😂

I think it would really give ShawniganPr*ck and Co some good material if we actually were. Pull your weight!

Classy as ever.  Not sure if you’ve managed to wrap your giant head around the fact that enjoying some nice weather doesn’t actually make the nice weather happen.
