  1. The map you posted of the ggem doesn't really show a se ridge though. The high is way off the coast of Pennsylvania to the east and the other high is over North Dakota to the north. I'm not liking our chances here in Nebraska at least.
  2. That's what I love about overnight temperatures in winter, they can be so variable. Last night here in Omaha at 10 pm I believe we were 8 above zero but plattsmouth 15 or so miles south was -5 and Lincoln was-1.
  3. Nws with 2-4" in their graphics for Friday and Friday night. I literally don't remember the last time I saw that! Every time lately it's been accumulation less than an inch
  4. My point was you guys complain about how dead it is on the plains side of the forum and then when Dominic actually starts a topic for an area he doesn't live in he gets all these negative posts. AND you guys don't contribute anything to the great lakes part of the forum yet it seems like you expect the guys from there to contribute to our area......
  5. Geesh Debbie Downer Dominic is trying to show some excitement for us here and he gets reactions like this. No wonder the Chicago guys don't post over here. And 2-3 months before it snows again? So you're saying it is going to snow in April or May?? I'll take it!!
  6. I made the comment before 12Z GFS came out and the GFS changed its look
  7. And not surprisingly the monster storm around the 5th is missing Omaha and hitting guess who??? Chicago. But hey at least we might get a couple inches on Friday. Neat....
  8. Had a 61 mph wind gust here in Omaha just before 6 tonight
  9. We're within a week or so now of the LRC pattern which should be showing a huge storm around the 30th. so hopefully it starts showing something before the 5th otherwise I'm giving up all hope in the LRC and this winter here in Nebraska
  10. 66 here on Sunday and -4 this morning. How cruel! Oh and still no snow....
  11. Yeah I noticed that too. We'll probably finally get our storm here in Nebraska and it will be all rain or the majority will fall as rain before we get a little backside snow!
  12. 0Z GFS came in wetter!! But it's pretty much all rain lol! At least it's moisture though. Next weekend looking warm too. More highs in the 50s possible
  13. 3rd day in the last 5 where Omaha reported 55+ mph wind gusts. High number today has been 67 mph in Norfolk and 64 in Lincoln. Probably will see more days like this as this dumb pattern holds on and the strong NW flow/clipper train continues for the next 7+ days. Tomorrow is going to be gorgeous though with highs near 60 and pretty light west winds
  14. 06Z GFS today with the driest run yet for Nebraska- most of the state has no precip for the next 16 days and the rest of the state has less than .10" of qpf. I think we can all agree that CFS model is on crack. This pattern isn't going to break
  15. Gfs gives us a whopping .25" of qpf the next 16 days. No signs of any change in pattern. But hey we could increase our yearly snowfall by 50% if that falls!
  16. So the LRC is 55-60 days now? Because a couple of days ago you said Lezak said that the cycle was 55-58 days and now it's 58-60 so it matches up with the storm in October. Just trying to figure all this stuff out! I always thought Lezak had a certain number of days not some range that is almost a week long...
  17. Hey Tom what storm matches up with the LRC that would move a storm through at the end of the month? It seems that would be too long for that storm on October 4th here in Nebraska
  18. The LRC should mean a big storm moving through between the 22-28th shouldn't it?! I'm hoping so. not sure I can wait til February or March for a good storm...
  19. If we're referring to the LRC and the Oct 3-5th blizzard and tornado outbreak than we should see a storm before that based on this years cycle
  20. Omaha Eppley had a 55 mph wind gust earlier this morning! Winds might be even stronger with Thursday's clipper
