    And I will point it out. If the atmosphere is indeed in Niño conditions and last year was technically a Niño, then why have the winters so far acted in the complete opposite way? Typically a Niño year is considerably front loaded, but we get nailed in February, and now the prospects of this. Maybe after this couple year spell we can rewrite the effects of a Niño winter? I know I’m off and don’t have time to really go through it but if this is fact a 2nd year Niño which in turn should be even more of a dud, explain the trends that have been going on for a week or two. History will be rewritten. Yes I know the 3.4 areas aren’t technically in a Niño but the atmosphere is.

    Didn’t know my thoughts on the weather were banned from this site. I said it’s a 2nd year nino and I think it might start to backtrack in the models starting tonight. Didn’t know that was so bad to say. Thanks Fred.

    I hope this thing doesn’t fold on us, after all it is a 2nd year nino and the timing really isn’t moving up. Don’t be surprised if it all starts to fall apart tonight guys. I hope not, but it’s the feeling with this winter. Probably back to split flow.

    Trough at 192 actually looks more impressive.

    Seems the pna also never gets within ten days either. Timing has to start moving up. Just doesn’t seem to be in the models either.

    Block is actually more massive this run in the clown range with a little more of an elongated trough. Still great to see.

    All in all, not much of a difference. Little variations to be honest. The overall theme is the same. I would say it’s still a good run so far.

    Jim got good news today, kind of. If we can get it within 5-7 days there will be much more hope around here. I have a feeling Jim is going to make an appearance tonight and give us his thoughts. Happy New Year!!
