  1. Lock it in. Pull the trigger. November 9, 2021 will be remembered!
  2. Surprised to see the NWS increase the wind gust forecast for OLM this morning. We'll see if it verifies. There's likely to be a pretty significant amount of power outages around here if we get gusts to 50. PSE is already reporting 17,000+ without power as of 0840.
  3. It's very dark outside but no rain and no wind. It's eerie - almost feels like the calm before the storm. Excited to see if this overperforms or underperforms later today.
  4. It is quite dark, dreary, and ominous looking outside this morning, not to mention blustery. No tree damage yet but leaves are flying everywhere. I think this storm might surprise us a bit, but we'll see what happens.
  5. Wow! Radar looks really good off the coast of Grays Harbor. Olympia may win today, that's good considering it looks like we'll lose tomorrow.
  6. Moderate-heavy snow beginning to accumulate in Olympia
  7. Wait, that's something that actually might happen?
  8. What in the name of the snow gods just happened on that Euro
  9. Ehhhh... that's a big statement. I had upwards of 18" in 2008
  10. Precipitation hits during the warm period on Friday. I would hope that it waits a little bit until after the cooldown starts on Friday night to prevent any rain issues.
  11. If that's the case, I have a hard time imagining this putting down LESS than 6 inches at minimum
  12. Yes, I'm brand new here. Been watching this a few days. I'm @ThurstonNewsWX on twitter. But, what is everyone's general consensus regarding precipitation type. What I'm seeing is that most of the models show it as starting as rain which could put a huge damper on this event especially for the South Sound. Is this actually going to happen or is that just the models scouring out the cold air too quickly? And also, am I reading the maps correctly, that the snow is supposed to last for a good 24 HOURS?!?!
