  1. Looks like it’s a twin convergence zone day. There’s one off the Olympics and another one forming off Vancouver island as well.
  2. I’ll take any rain we can get from late April to October!
  3. rained pretty good when it passed over this morning. Looks like there’s some good echoes drifting down into the area from the NW. places in the central and south sound should get some showers it looks like.
  4. Has been sunny the last hour or so but looks like some C-Zone is starting to fire up again over the kitsap peninsula and moving SE my way again. Should be pretty nice for everyone else!
  5. Rained for about 30 minutes probably 0.05” or so now it’s just party sunny. C-zone main activity shifted to the SE of here.
  6. definitely cooler today snow level fairly low should be some snow up in the passes.
  7. Rain has just started here. First time it has rained in 5 days.
  8. Clouds have gotten dark here was almost no clouds in sight at sunrise this morning.
  9. looks like it’s going to park in south King/north Pierce county today. It formed in Everett and dropped south right at the wrong time for you unfortunately.
  10. I still would be anticipating a mostly cloudy day here with occasional showers. Nws disc. Doesn’t talk about anything crazy besides a few showers but the way the wind is blowing off the Olympics the south sound will probably be a bit cloudier than everybody else today.
  11. Beautiful sunny AM today but I see the convergence zone is dropping south my way this morning.
  12. Made it up to 60 but it’s down to 49 here it’s dropped over the past few hours as the south wind has kicked up here. Still pretty breezy. Was a pleasant day here before it got windy.
  13. probably gusting 25-30 out of the south here didn’t expect it to be breezy here today.
  14. and less than 6 months until the forums get interesting again unless we get some thunderstorms or something unexpected this summer.
  15. Up to 60 degrees as of 1:30 with mostly sunny skies and a light SW breeze.
  16. Yeah in the summer its pretty common to have a nice North or Northeast breeze on those hot summer days. Makes it feel a little better.
  17. Oh yeah on 2/4 we had 40-45mph north winds blasting through with the snow. We got hit pretty hard on the night the photo was taken with 45mph ENE winds. That was on 2/25 when there was also a reverse convergence zone that formed over the ocean due to the outflow winds.EDIT: it was the night of 2/26 not 2/25 when we had the strong ENE wind.
  18. Yeah I love it here it’s beautiful. This picture was on February 25th when it was snowing up north towards sea tac and vashon across the water.
  19. This is the view a few blocks from my house at about 320’ up. Towards point defiance the hill is only 200’ in elevation or so but a few miles down the elevation goes up to 300-400’
  20. I live at 350’ in elevation so it gets more snow than at sea level almost every time especially in marginal situations. February last year at sea level in Ruston only about 1” of snow fell but at my house 3 miles south with some elevation there was 2.5”. If you go 5-10 miles south or east of here it’s much better for snow than here however. This February was the same. South Tacoma usually gets more snow than North Tacoma even though they’re the same elevation practically it’s just that south Tacoma doesn’t have the moderating effect from the sound.
