  1. Snow starting to barely accumulate temperatures down to 35 in North tacoma
  2. Been doing wet snow steadily all morning and still is now temp is 38 very pretty no accumulation hopefully that changes tonight EDIT:temp actually 36...3 degree cool down since 10am!
  3. Honestly 55-60 degrees sounds nice haha I am enjoying the snow right now but once this is over with I’m ready for some warm weather
  4. Very interesting to see it’s cold enough to snow where I’m at close to the water (am at 400ft or so though) just pretty snow flurries hopefully it gets more interesting tonight. Temps dropped from 39 to 37 after it started as rain
  5. Coming down as all snow after starting as rain... coming down pretty good too but no sticking too warm
  6. would be cool if this worked out hopefully it does but I don’t want to get my hopes up and be disappointed, this looks like the last chance for lowland snow around here as it’s appears temps are gonna go into the 50s here next week
  7. The next couple days are probably going to be a rain-snow mix or wet snow at best probably won’t get any accumulating snow being below 500’. Hope to atleast see some snowflakes but pretty unlikely it’ll amount to anything for anyone unless you are above 500’ away from the water
  8. Some pictures of snow up in San Juan’s from yesterday up about 2400’ up! Somewhere between 2 and 3ft deep depending on the spot.
  9. Just wanted to post this here...about 30 inches of snowpack still on Mt.Constitution on orcas island absolutely spectacular! Was an amazing hike about 3-6 inches above 1000’ and over 2’ above 2000’ in elevation. Just looking at the forecasts now hopefully can see a little bit of snow tomorrow night that would be cool even if it melts really fast
  10. Currently 37 degrees on top of my.constitution just hiked to the top. Nearly 3ft of snow at the summit. Took many pictures one of the most beautiful sights I’ve ever seen. Gotta go though gonna enjoy it.
  11. yeah no snow here at sea level but once you go into the park and get some elevation there’s solid snowpack it’s very interesting to see on an island!
  12. Very cold this AM in eastsound San Juan’s. Says it was 26 here last night. I believe it all the ponds and even some of the water on the beaches was frozen last night in place. Never seen that on a saltwater beach...will see how cold it is above 2000’ this afternoon
  13. Beautiful sunset tonight on orcas island overlooking towards Vancouver island, very cold though. Sat by the fire for a few hours tonight preparing for our hike up to the top of the foothills on the island. For anyone who hasn’t seen the San Juan’s..they really should it’s absolutely beautiful here! It’s a really amazing time to go This year especially since it’s been so cold there’s snow above 750ft or so in elevation on the island it’s really cool to see in March
  14. Hey guys just wanted to say I am at orcas island up in the San Juan’s right now spending the next 2 days here.. unbelievable sights and views with this weather very crisp cold though about 42 here right at sea level. something very interesting today I went up to about 800ft elevation on mt.constitution...there’s a good 8-10 inches of snow at mountain lake in the forest still..also there’s downed trees everywhere you can look in the forests that’s very recent big trees and Limbs all scattered around from recent storms this winter tomorrow am going to hike up to the top of the mountain to see how much snow they have on the top should be pretty interesting! Just thought it would be interesting to share with everybody how much snow there is at Mt.constitution
  15. would have been one of the greatest snows any of us had ever seen if this pattern that started early February would have started around early to mid December
  16. Not getting my hopes up for much of anything with the euro run
  17. Possible some snow will happen in WA Wednesday night according to euro but not the gfs, something to watch but the euro completely caved to the gfs last time when that snowstorm went into central/southern Oregon, I’m betting this will do the same most likely
  18. So it’s the gfs vs euro again basically, considering recent events I’m betting gfs
  19. Did any of you guys hear the story about the guy who got stuck during the snowstorm down in Oregon last week? Some guy got snowed in near sun river...got stuck in the car for 5 days...the guy literally ate taco seasoning packets because he didn’t have nothing else and he and the dog survived! Pretty crazy
  20. Outflow winds never got near as strong as the other night at my house just been very light north winds here
  21. Winds were calm about 10 minutes ago now starting to get some light north winds, hopefully this will be like earlier this week and we can get some strong winds going...was pretty entertaining last time
  22. This winter unfortunately doesn’t look like it’ll have close to the same effects as those winters from the 50s and 1800s, would be pretty cool to see, will be pretty cool temps the next couple weeks but not very cold compared to those years
  23. Looks like some outflow winds are gonna start today, I hope the winds are strong like the other night here that was pretty impressive
  24. that would be pretty impressive 35 degrees for highs on March 3rd and 4th pretty cold for this time of year
