  1. Why does Europe hate us so much? All we did was take the San Juan Islands from them and try to start a war over a pig. I don't see the problem.
  2. I'm happy this is happening during my work week. Why? My particular job requires me to be there, if there's a declared emergency i get double time, and during major winter weather events no one calls and I have nothing to do but look out the window to downtown.
  3. This run is looking great for some pre-arctic snow in the Western WA lowlands! Still...nervous. It's been a bust of a winter and this kind of action could completely save it.
  4. The part to me that's so crazy about that Euro run is 0z runs have consistently pulled back the last several days from what 18z was showing. Now a 0z run winds up showing a historic cold pattern with buckets of snow from Skagit Co to Willamette Valley? That's a shocker looking at the trends.
  5. I'm just watching in awe while at work, sipping on a monster rehab lemonade. Only thing better would be if it was already snowing outside
  6. At this point time to go all in. PV parks over us for the next 3 months so I can finally get snow on my birthday in May. Book it or bust!
  7. I...don't think I've ever seen such pretty colors in the believable range...is this real life? Can I put on my "It's Happening" shirt and prep the bunker?
  8. Enough for 2 inches? Perhaps. Would be nice to have a low form in the Aleutians and ride down the coast dumping snowy goodness while not totally ruining the arctic temps.
  9. Thicc* air is juicy, and juicy air is too hot. You want less Thiccness,
  10. Just need to get some kind of moisture in the air and we'll have a stew goin'!
  11. The WRF is usually very good within 72 hours, so I wouldn't mind a couple inches :D
  12. Well I guess we #iceage now. Time to buy a Northface jacket and a snowplow. Gonna need it in August
  13. GFS needs to push that 2nd system a couple hundred miles north so Puget Sound can get in on the snow action.
  14. Off topic, they ever get done with that Dulles extension for DC Metro? Flying into Dulles and waiting 40 minutes for a stupid bus was awful last time I was out there.
  15. Well it's nice at least to see snowfall and cold records falling across the US. Maybe we'll get our turn next year
  16. I'm not throwing in the towel either, it's just disappointing. Imagine if that cold air that parked over Siberia for a month and dunked on asia was over NA...I could dream...
  17. I think every possible region other than us scored this winter. Even New Zealand got some summer snow lol. Phil even scored kinda. We sacrificed our winter so Japan could be buried by record snowfall. lol
  18. I'm not usually a doomer by any stretch of the imagination, but this winter had all of the ingredients for something epic. Everything lined up in some way or another to give us the impression that this was gonna be a killer winter. Even Phil is surprised we haven't scored. I'd almost rather take a bunch of terribad runs than have the constant rug pull of the past 3 months. At least then it wouldn't be memorably disappointing, just something forgettable. Here's to hoping February manages to deliver the goods, but based on how the models have thrown 3 feet of powder in our laps at hour 300+ only to pull back to mild and dry in the believable range I'm just gonna have to hold my breath. What a waste of a season it's been so far.
  19. Well it sure would be nice for a couple of feet to fall. I won't hold my breath however, this winter has been a dud for winter weather in the lowlands...
  20. Hopefully that fat block of beautiful cold slides 300 miles west. I think our ridge would have to float a bit further west than we would want for that though. Idk I'm a pleb.
  21. For the record, I believe it is snowing in Tahoe. Unlike our random prediction of flurries in Seattle coming from the mets, that one seems to have delivered.
  22. Speaking of things improving, looks like I'll be moving to Gold Bar in the very near future. Bid on the house earlier today and got it. At work running on 20 minutes of sleep the last 40 hours, but pretty happy. Location is perfect for getting more snow than Puget Sound, and on lame winters I can just go up a bit in elevation to enjoy it.
  23. It's currently dumping snow in Tahoe. Just gotta move that system and cold air about 800 miles NNW and we'll be in business!
  24. Much appreciated. Yeah the market is basically dead. No one is really putting their houses up for sale and it's rocketing up the prices even more than previously. We went so long between finding a good house that we're having to re-apply for pre-approval. Things on that front haven't changed too drastically at least, so hopefully nothing changes with what we're qualified for. The homeowner seems to have really taken care of the house and did a ton of upgrades, so while I'm not super comfortable with waving inspection I feel like this is the house to do it. I can't with apartment life anymore. I work 60+ hours on graveyards and have a 7 month old. We'll find out tomorrow evening and my wife is already stressed to the max haha.
