You just almost have to wonder if the models are about to flip. We go through this 10-14 day period during the active MJO cycle, stormy pattern, and then blocking abruptly takes over.

SSW and it begins before Day 10 now. I do like seeing that.

12z Canadian Ensembles Day 9-16 GIF. Ridge offshore not nearly as flat or weak as with previous runs. I'm intrigued.

We'll probably see 10-14 days of an active NPAC and then maybe blocking comes back. Imagine if the September-October pattern popped up near Christmas Eve. With that bitter of air on our side of the pole that would be fun! C'MON!!!! 12z GFS in 3 hours 58 minutes
