  1. We probably had at least 150" of snow here in 2007-08, and the following winter was probably around 100", I would also estimate 2010-11 had about 80"+ here. Then my first year up here in 11-12' we had about 100". Since then we haven't even come close with snowfall. It goes in cycles, 2000-01 through 2005-06 sucked for snow up here, with the exception of January and March 2002.
  2. These cottonwoods are always about the last to lose their leaves and the first to get them in the spring. We've had very little wind this year, so that's helped them hang on. I remember during the cold snap in November 2014 they had not even turned yet. But its not just down here, the big cottonwood near my house is pretty much the only tree for miles that still has leaves.
  3. My brother used to live like two blocks from you. I went and visited him once and there were TONS of deer in your neighborhood.
  4. Burns, OR still running a -3.7F departure on the month. Average high/low so far this month is 48/12.
  5. When I left the house this morning I was at 6" even for the month. Very dry November, but not in record territory anymore.
  6. I think you are going to get some snow later this week. Looks like NWS is saying 2-4" Friday night. Then chilly early next week with highs near freezing and lows in the teens.
  7. Well dry is how we get most of our cold anomalies this time of year. Especially with +ENSO. So we cant complain to much. Plus this dry streak does not look nearly as long as the one we recently exited.
  8. Putting lines underground is a great idea. I wonder what would be the barriers to doing that more. Maybe cost? Because wind or snow knocks out power so much up here one would think they would put the lines underground.
  9. My wife tolerates my obsession. I try not to regale her with two many statistics from January 1969 or December 1972. She enjoys snow, but is not as excited about it as me, since she grew up in Klamath Falls where snow is pretty common.
  10. I don't blame anything from sending her over the edge with a new baby. I can't imagine what women go through in that period of time after they have had the baby. Postpartum is real, and both my wives having to give birth via cesarean mad e that all the more tough.
