Still not getting hung up on details for next weekend... But I do like that 00z GFS brings -14C 850mb temps to SLE. That is what SLE hit with the December blast.

Really like where the GFS is going in the long range...That is a pattern with some real snow potential for my location.

Even my location could score some decent snow before it transitions to rain. Overrunning is not the best way for me to get snow...

Hey I wonder if anyone notices that the 00z is MUCH colder than the 18z. 516 thickness to EUG by hour 123.

Totally agree. Was about to post the same thing...BTW you said pubic instead of public... But anyways I bet half the "pubic" in Eugene can hardly remember the big snowstorm and -10 temps they had 2 months ago. These kind of things fade quickly. Most people I know talk about the December 2008 snow, but cannot remember what year it happened.

How's the CFS looking?

I think there is a decent bet that Oregon will be colder than the Puget Sound area with this one, just like in December. Of course there won't be 8" of snow helping Eugene hit -10 this time.

1989 started out great! BUT there hasn't been ANYTHING at all with this to suggest anything like that was POSSIBLE. So I don't really know why you keep bringing it up?

I went to bed on the night of February 18, 1993 after watching Jim Bosley on KATU in Portland forecast 1" of snow for the following day followed by a quick transition to rain. The next day was one of the largest one day snow totals of all time at the Salem airport. We had a one day total of 13" in Silverton. The airmass in place ahead of that event was much warmer than next weeks...So we'll see.

Rapid cooling this evening. Already down to 32.
