  1. GEM blasts the region with arctic air and even the Euro brings cold air into the Columbia basin and a chilly easy wind
  2. GFS still is way weaker with the block I accidentally posted the 00z GEM again, thought it was the 12z
  3. 10" of snow at Downtown has to be one of the snowier arctic fronts in the past few decades? Seems like a fantastic event in an otherwise torchy month
  4. Was the snowstorm here from the arctic front or an overrunning event? It looks like it got cold after it snowed.
  5. RIP crazy GFS maps, I don't think I've seen many after the one showed -4 temps in Portland in early November and maybe one or two in December
  6. 6" snowstorm for Portland going into the cold.
  7. Any chance that massive dome of cold air in Siberia dumps straight into the western US? February 1989 please!
  8. Wow, looks like Roseburg had 7.5" of snow going into the cold in 1962 and then dropped to -1 degrees. Eugene dropped to -4 in January 1957.
  9. 1954 looks like it would've buried you if we go that far back!
  10. November 2006? I think February 2006 was a dry arctic blast
  11. Just looking through some of these, 2008, 1985, 2002 and 1954 look like huge snow dumps for @SilverFallsAndrew
  12. And he's jumping on the drought monitor again. Even Mark Nelsen said last spring when Cliff Mass was talking about the drought that he was probably thinking too much about the short term
  13. Arctic air starts to get closer towards the very end
  14. EPS looks great. Maybe we just need a few 384 hr GFS arctic blasts to improve the mood?
  15. GEM drops a big arctic airmass over the Midwest and Great Lakes and it looks like a very small amount of that makes it into the Columbia Basin The ridge appears to be retrograding to a better spot for us as well
  16. Tanasbourne is pretty close so my location probably had a similar amount. What other March events were there that decade, 2002 and 2009?
