  1. Why do the hour 384 maps always look so good? I'm on board, someday it will happen. Lower Solar, SSW3, Nina, -PNA, MJO 7 and many other reasons....
  2. Nice! A more comprehensive list than I came up with. I knew a missed a few things things...
  3. How soon the frogs will be croaking, will the Mariners ever win again, can the parallel GFS be trusted and Jim is onboard, but others are not.
  4. Yeah, when a snow storm busts here on the west side it is very disappointing...we never know if we'll get another chance the rest of winter. And some winters we don't get anything at all. Maybe I'll have to move some day.
  5. Well it started, but looks like just rain here in Fircrest with maybe a few flakes mixed in.
  6. Good point. If I lived in a place or elevation that received a lot of snow, I would likely get tired of it at some point, I suppose... just never had that experience. My wife lived in Alaska for a while years ago and she has mentioned how dirty the snow eventually gets over the long winter. I don't think she understands my obsession.
  7. So there have been preference wars about preferred kinds of weather fairly frequently on this forum. But I'm wondering is there anyone posting or lurking on here who does NOT like snow? It seems we are all snow starved, snow loving people. And there is never too much snow!
  8. Not seeing anything here yet on the west side of town.
  9. I don't think Jim does the forum while at work like some of us do...
  10. In Tacoma as well. Went into a skid twice on my drive to work this morning!
  11. I like the looks of the CX-5 also, though we ended up buying a 2016 Hyundai Tucson a couple of years ago. Very solid car but not AWD. Probably would go that route next time. Nissan Rogue seems good also.
  12. I'd go with the Windmill Palm, Trachycarpus fortunei. They do great in the PNW.
  13. I love that idea...fake weather! Not just fake cold....
  14. Calendulas are a cool season annual and apparently do quite while in our current "winter" conditions.
  15. They were a little yellow from where leaves were partially covering them. I think they are actually on schedule and no, I am not pulling out the forks! I still think we will get lowland snow. I don't need arctic air to be happy, I just want some accumulating snow in my back yard!
  16. This forum is entertaining. Alt accounts and fantastic snow maps!
