  1. 12C and cloudy here. Had some heavy drizzle here this morning for a few hours, which did not show up at all on the radar.
  2. It's 2020. Anything can happen. I'm going all in and saying we get a January 1950 redux at some point this winter. Might not be during actual January though.
  3. Statistically, November 1985 was even more significant than January 1950. There was some article on that somewhere but I don't know where it is anymore. Anyway, November 1985 is and was, the gold standard. It may not have been as snowy as January 1950 was but solely on temperature anomaly, it was incredible.
  4. I hope we're not getting too excited yet. I mean, this is the time of year to get our hopes irrationally high and I'm one of the biggest weenies out there but, careful guys. This winter probably won't see another January 1950 or November 1985. But, it could...
  5. Nope, just a lot of cold rain. Snow was not far away at all for this time of year though. I drove up to Cypress and the lowest elevation I saw snow on the ground was ~1380 feet, just before that view point area.
  6. ngl it is pretty here. Way too mild for my tastes though. Yes. Rain is basically the cause of all our woes. Even forest fires are to blame on them since they create all those lush forests, which invariably burn when their time comes. The only good precipitation is snow or ice pellets.
  7. oh man last December was a dumpster fire. One of the worst months I've experienced here.
  8. Kinda lucky there hasn't been much rain or you guys would get some nasty inversion fog.
  9. Same here man. I honestly hope it is like this till the snows come.
  10. Yeah with maybe a sunny break. I doubt November will see any cold air though. Gotta wait till December 12th.
  11. That Pacific cyclone off Mexico looks interesting. Side note: I wonder if Hawaii will get any strong storms this season? @Phil?
  12. I predict the first shot of real lowland snow will be around December 12th (i.e. ~50 days after the onset of this cold period, October 23rd). It'll be a wet November though.
