  1. Maybe the solar aspect is starting to kick in. The last cycle was small and we are in a very quiet period now. If that's what's going on I'm all in for some fun times coming.
  2. Let's all bow to the King! It shows I will have 6 or so inches of snow on the ground by late next week.
  3. I think I'm one of them tonight. An overwhelming majority of the models / tools point to this working out.
  4. I think this will top anything this century for the NW except maybe December 2008. I think this could last longer though. We could easily beat any January event since at least 1980.
  5. The Euro is simply majestic. Incredible block and very cold. It has 850s of -10 or lower for SEA from day 5 onward. At face value highs below freezing and lows 10 to 20. Probably some singles if there is good snow cover.
  6. The close up maps are annoying slow to update. I looked at the larger area map and it looks good. I will post a map when the close up is updated. It seems that even though the Euro is faster with the cold it keeps moisture around long enough to dump some snow. These things are always so complicate dto forecast.
  7. TOTALLY different than the GFS. One of these times I'm going to be wrong, but I'm on a good roll.
  8. This is the best Euro run yet for snow in this area. Showing a few inches with the Arctic front. Yes!!
  9. This run really slams the Arctic air in here. Looks really cold by late Saturday now in the Seattle area. The precip maps show snow.
  10. Really baffling to look at the GFS analogs tonight. Almost all of them are from events that actually worked out to be very cold and snowy. Very likely something is a little bit off on this run.
  11. You have to keep in mind the CPC just today made about the coldest 6 to 10 day and 8 to 14 day outlooks I've ever seen for this area. They aren't wish casting. If you'll recall I made the call for a New Years cold wave days ago.
  12. It makes zero sense. Usually everyone is so quick to point out what an awful model the GFS is when it shows something good.
  13. The WRF is showing snow for the East Puget Sound Lowlands on Sunday. 1 to 2 inches for most. It usually underdoes precip in these cases.
