  1. The roads are also awful I have seen 4 accidents already! A record for me, seems like the roads are all ice
  2. Extremely windy here this morning white out at times in open areas! I think there should still be a high wind warning
  3. While I am upset about loosing this storm, I couldn't be happier with the much milder weather we have had the past couple of days, around 48 right now and I'm loving it! Bring on the severe storms already haha!
  4. http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day3otlk.html Does anyone else find this amazing? Haha I love how awesome the weather is in late fall/early spring because we can see a severe thunderstorm followed by snow or vice versa! I know we aren't looking at a good shot at severe weather at all, but this time of the year makes me long for some more severe weather and summer! Btw I absolutely love the current weather now, hit 47 today!
  5. Looks like after this small band, which is actually producing very heavy snow, there is another smaller band to go through and then it appears the storm will be over. I may just pick up 7-8"
  6. Really surprised actually recieved 5-6" here, however the snow plow driver destroyed multiple mail boxes while he was plowing today.
  7. Small flakes starting to fall, heavy band just to my South, literally on my door step. The sky does look quite dark too, maybe some convection!
  8. If there are bands that continue to redevelop like the last system we could be looking at a significant event. I'm just a little worried about the actual main line moving to fast. However, if there are 2-3" snows per hour in that band I think we will all see 4-8"
  9. Moderate of heavy snow here in st charles, I have only seen 1 plow and the roads are beginning to get a glaze of snow on them
  10. Exactly! I'm hoping mother nature will turn the pattern around next weekend to all snow, all that rain and flooding will really do some damage around here!
  11. Via LOT: THE 00Z GUIDANCE CONTINUES TO SUPPORT THE NOTION OF A FAIRLY HIGHPOTENTIAL FOR CONVECTIVE SNOWFALL AND POSSIBLY ISOLATEDTHUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON. CONVECTIVE ALLOWING MODELS AND EVENSOME OF THE GLOBAL MODELS NOW HAVE QPF VALUES SUPPORTIVE OF ATLEAST LOW END WARNING SNOWFALL ACROSS A LARGE PORTIOON OF THEAREA...AND SHOULD ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOP SNOWFALL TOTALSCOULD BE EVEN HIGHER. GIVEN THE CHANGE IN THINKING HAVE OPTED TOUPDATE WSW AND GET THE WARNING OUT NOW TO GIVE A COUPLE EXTRAHOURS HEADS UP FOR OUR USERS. MORE FINE TUNED SNOWFALL TOTALS WILLBE PUT OUT WITH THE 4 AM FORECAST ISSUANCE.
  12. Looks like this is going to be a good one, maybe even a double digit even for some areas. Won't get super excited until it starts but the potential is definitely there!
  13. ...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM THIS MORNING TO 6 PM CST THIS EVENING... THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHICAGO HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM THIS MORNING TO 6 PM CST THIS EVENING. THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT. * TIMING...SNOW WILL DEVELOP THIS MORNING AND TAPER OFF BY EARLY THIS EVENING. * ACCUMULATION...POTENTIAL HAS INCREASED FOR SOME LOCATIONS TO RECEIVE TOTALS GREATER THAN 6 INCHES. EXACT SNOWFALL AMOUNTS WILL BE UPDATED IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS. * PRIMARY IMPACT...SNOW WILL FALL HEAVILY...WITH SNOWFALL RATES POSSIBLY REACHING TWO TO THREE INCHES PER HOUR FOR A TIME...ESPECIALLY EARLY THIS AFTERNOON. THIS WILL CAUSE SNOW COVERED ROADS WITH NEAR ZERO VISIBILITY AT TIMES...MAKING TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS ACROSS THE REGION.
  14. LOT going with a WCA, predicted low of -11 tonight.
  15. I don't know why they haven't I have 5" with heavy heavy snow coming down.
  16. Seems plausible considering that the heavy snow bands haven't stopped here for almost an hour now. Really coming down.
  17. My bad doing this off my phone, but heavy snow ATM and if this continues I might break 5" if any else seeing the stationary bands that are dumping snow on us? It almost seems that the heaviest snow is North of the WSW's! Maybe just maybe my dream will come true
  18. http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=lot By the looks of that, the heaviest bands are moving NE and seem to be over the Northern part of the region, not in the warning but in the advisory! Currently heavy snow, with big flakes, last time I checked I had 0.5" down, maybe have an 1" now! Hopefully that band can back build and create a training type of snow band
  19. Hopefully I can squeeze out 6" here in St. Charles, last time I measure I was at 5.5" about an hour ago.
  20. http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?product=NCR&rid=DVN&loop=yes More is building in, bring it on!
