Very windy here...suprised we still have power. Just had a couple of raindrops as well but has been dry all day.

Wasn’t 1999 when Baker hit some sort of a world record snowfall?

Dec 1998 was awesome since my area was forecasted to get no snow before turning cold...but a surprise convergence popped up dumping 6-8” of snow the weekend before Christmas which stuck around through Christmas. We also had an overriding event Christmas Eve if I remember correctly dumping several more inches before turning to rain.

Did the MRF show an epic blast just to take it away 48hrs before it was to start?

I loved the longevity of 2008! 1996 was epic but was a 3-4day event where 2008 was about a 13 day event. Plus I had a total of 34” of snow compared to about 25” in 1996.

I was wondering with how slow the progression has been on the radar. Getting some very gusty winds right now though...power flickering and it’s messing with my digital antenna signal while trying to watch the Rams/Vikings game.

Love mornings like this...cool, dry and breezy. My Border Collies love it as well! Currently 47 degrees with lowering clouds now.

Sounds just like Dec.1996 except it was pretty much zero or ice south of Olympia!

Got the Christmas lights up...it can snow now.

Putting up the Christmas lights tomorrow, that should turn the models arctic.

Seems like there is a lot of bouncing around with each model run even with the ensembles... everything is still on the table for the coming weeks.

38 and mostly cloudy currently. According to my Facebook it was two years ago today that we had the windstorm that knocked out my power for two days. If I remember correctly it was a west wind that got my area...which always creates havoc with the trees.

Was pretty good up here, sat on the porch and watched all the flashes in the distance of the transformers blowing and the roar through the trees was an awesome sound! Lost power for about 24hrs.

Was that the awesome windstorm?

Another white Christmas would be just fine! Heavy snow falling on Christmas morning like 1990 and 2008 is absolute perfection!

For up this way not much has come close temp wise to the -2 I had at my house (-4 in Arlington if I remember correctly) on the morning of Dec. 20th 2008. I think we got down to near zero in the late 70’s (think it was in January) but I was only around 3 or so years old so that one is a little hazy. Upper single digits has been slightly more frequent like Nov 1985, Nov 2006, and Dec. 2009. Just to name a few but that morning in Dec. 2008 was something else up here!

Been horribly annoying...every single one since 2012 has been a trickle that takes days to arrive and by then whatever snow that does fall melts before it gets cold enough. I miss the flash freeze days where the temp drops rapidly during the middle of the day during a dump of snow. Seems like that used to be the norm for Puget Sound...the new norm of these back door events is just painful.
