  1. Late this afternoon seemed windier than yesterday, lost power at work for a few hours.
  2. I thought that was the time that lawn furniture was flying into your yard last year?
  3. Awesome, thanks for posting this! Another reason to be very hopeful about this winter!
  4. I was washing my truck in shorts on Thanksgiving 2008 and was very concerned as well...until the greatness started just a couple of weeks later!
  5. Will be fun to see which model ends up caving.
  6. I remember washing my truck around Thanksgiving 2008 wearing shorts and short sleeves and wondering to myself if winter was going to show up or not...and we all remember what happened a few weeks later!!
  7. If I remember correctly I could also receive Environment Canada’s weather radio signal as well...I think...
  8. I would wait each hour for the updated current conditions and when I would hear it say “Bellingham- A quarter mile visibility with snow and fog, 29 degrees, north wind at 10 gusts to 20”...I knew the snow was coming in! Oh and “Wind speeds recorded in knots”
  9. Remember the pure excitement when it would say “6-10 day outlook calls for much below normal temperatures and above normal precipitation” It was the best!! December 1990!!
  10. I had a friend in the 1980’s that had the modem that you would put your corded phone receiver onto it and latch it down, I thought that was out of this world cool!! Anyway back to weather...Between last weeks snow, and today’s storm it has really gotten me in the mood for active exciting weather! Wouldn’t a Dec. 2008 repeat be wonderful!
  11. Heavy rain and gusty winds at the moment. 45 degrees.
  12. Not until 1997 for me...dialup was so fun with exciting noises and you could eat dinner and take a nap then the NWS Seattle discussion page would be all loaded up!
  13. Pretty good gusts at home but nothing earth shattering. Still have power and internet!
  14. Or 1995! Was still relying on Andy Wappler, Jeff Renner, Steve Pool, and the NOAA weather radio during the big blow of Dec. 1995!
  15. Power now surging at work (Snohomish/Skagit border) and I see the Snohomish Co outage map has jumped by about 20,000 over the last half hour...
  16. They are worse than weeds and were a constant battle to keep them under control at the golf course back in the day.
  17. Not to add to the whole major fall foliage controversy but at least in my area it seems like things are progressing pretty much normally up here. What sticks out to me in the past was how many trees still had their leaves back in Nov. 1996 when we had nearly a foot of snow right before Thanksgiving if I remember correctly, and again just after Thanksgiving 2006 when we had nearly 18” of very wet snow which snapped almost every Alder tree in my area!
  18. Very quiet nationwide except for Western Washington and parts of Alaska!
  19. Stretched power line in Silvana on my way to work.
  20. No...if I did my post would have been much more witty and fun!
  21. My gut is telling me the last week of November...after a bump near a positive PNA it looks to start crashing again around that time period.
