  1. Soon to be 16 out of 21. 31, calm and star-studded here
  2. Yeah, I ran that through my head before I posted. He knows what he meant. 32 degrees after a high of 38
  3. Do your research Andrew, the Huskies have had 7 losing seasons over the past 25 years
  4. If Oregon barely gets by the UW I agree that they would both deserve to be in but I really doubt the committee would go for it if Florida State remains undefeated. They would never leave an undefeated power 5 champ out of the CFP unless everyone else was undefeated
  5. Had a low of 25 here. Currently 26. I thought I would have a low that would unseat my October low of 23 but not to be. That low of 23 has a fair chance of being the low for the winter here. Either way it's another beautiful day out there.
  6. OSU must be there still since they would be undefeated but if Alabama wins convincingly they might be one of the four leaving Georgia, Oregon, Michigan and Washington to fill the two spots left. I think they would keep Georgia and Oregon leaving Michigan and Washington in the Rosebowl. That would be a great matchup!
  7. Considering the east coast bias it would take a very narrow win by Oregon over Washington and a blowout by OSU over Michigan coupled by a Florida State loss to even make that possible. Most likely none of the above will happen except possibly the Florida State loss in my opinion.
  8. Whatever the outcome tomorrow the Huskies are going to be embarrassed by Oregon in the championship game. I can’t stand the Ducks I can’t stand their coach and I can’t stand the Phil Knight money train, but I do think Oregon is the best team in the country.
  9. It looks like I've topped out at 38 here after a low of 25. I had a high of 40 yesterday. I am located on a property that rises a bit from NE to SW so in the winter I have a lot of shade in the afternoon. Currently 37 with lots of frost still around and a very clear sky.
  10. Currently 25.5 after a low of 24.9. Lots of sparkling trees and crunchy grass.
  11. Clouded up overnight here and kept my minimum at 34. 38 currently and still have a low cloud cover.
  12. Obviously it takes a good radiational cooling spot and a lot of clear nights to approach 100 freezes around here. The upper air doesn’t need to be very cold and you don’t need any arctic air connection so I spoze it theoretically could happen during a Nino with the right conditions
  13. Had a max of 47 after a low of 43 coupled with .71" of rain. With the clearing out there I have a shot at hitting freezing again before midnight to keep my streak of freezes intact. That would be two midnight freezing lows in the past three days. I know it's important to most of you so I'll let you know how it goes. Currently 43 out there.
  14. I took a pic of the sunrise this morning but it pales compared to those already posted so I’ll spare you. I had a 31.9 low that brings my freezing streak to 9 and is my 15th for the season. Currently 34 with scattered high clouds
  15. Sitting at 31.9 here with no wind at all. Had a high of 44. I'm still expecting the temp to go up before midnight but I might get lucky and keep my streak going.
  16. 33 here but I think it’s gonna cloud up and I won’t see a freeze after midnight putting an end to my streak at eight.
  17. This is a little off topic but is a bit weather related. There has been a small garter snake sunning himself on top of a grass pile on the south side of our well house for most days this past few weeks despite temps being in the 20’s frequently. He leaves once the sun goes away. I’m sure somebody here can tell me if this is normal behavior for a garter snake. The pic was taken yesterday.
  18. Wow! That’s incredible. You are at 4200 feet and must be in somewhat of a valley giving you some great radiational cooling on top of having the advantage of your central Oregon location.
  19. I had 89 freezes in 2008/9 and last winter came in at 88. I average 60 per year since 1992.
  20. Had a low of 29.5 and also went below freezing before midnight for my 8th freeze in a row and 14th so far. Not earthshaking, but what else is there to track during a boring Nino winter? Currently 35 with high clouds around.
  21. I've had six freezing lows until this morning's low of 43. After a high of 47 today it is now 35. It's very likely that it will hit freezing before midnight making it my 7th freeze in a row. How's that for a consecutive freezing days butt kicking? 12 freezes this season looking for 14 by tomorrow. 5.66" this month in the bucket.
  22. Around here any storm with consistent 50 mph gusts will cause a power outage and leave branches and debris everywhere. I'm nearly 80 yrs old and I don't like having to move the generator out and set it up, plus our phones don't work during outages, then there is cleaning up all the tree debris afterword. I marvel at windstorms but I would much rather have a snowstorm or even heavy fog. 58 degrees and not raining.
  23. I hate windstorms. I don't like having to deal with downed trees, no electricity and crushed cars.
  24. My Davis weather station said I received 1.75" of rain in the past 24 hours and I found that hard to believe after seeing what others were saying they received so I checked my manual gauge and it showed 1.60". Crazy amount of rain but that is what has fallen here.
  25. Missed my 7th freeze by 3 tenths of a degree this morning. Up to 55 and still going up. I've got way too much crap to do outside before it rains.
