I have a vivid memory of that morning. I was in high school and I had only been a weather weenie for about a year at that point. I was so excited to get a snow day. I woke up to moderate rain falling and I felt soooooooo depressed waiting at the bus stop.
I'm starting to think some thunderstorms will be firing up tomorrow morning-afternoon. The incredible lower leveling warming with a high of 65 at Portland will create a lot of instability.
The NWS forecast of 2-4 inches for the Portland area still looks good based on the 12z runs. Not sure why people are thinking this is going to bust so badly. Might be more areas only getting 2 inches, but that is fine with me.
I actually think I'll be in a decent spot for this one. Should be a little moister than the eastside. I think I'll see around 3 inches before a changeover.
