Just setting up the most epic January ever!

Actually the 12z probably shows a decent shot at lowland snow. The temperature looks a little cooler on this run.

Looks like the pattern is pretty much set now. Obviously small details will change, but it is looking like some cold air, not arctic air will be hitting us. Will probably be good for some snowflakes in the air for the lowlands, but not looking like anything significant.

Canadian shows no real cold air making it south. 850mb temps are very unimpressive.

Judging by this, we will most likely get a nice snowstorm around January 8th.

We are getting sun breaks and it isn't like the airmass is really that cold.

Looks like this euro run would probably give a good amount of lowland snow. I like that the Euro and Canadian are showing the low further south.

This certainly has the feel of a classic early season northern event coming up.

I think this low will be stronger than anticipated. Pdx gets 4 inches on 12/9. Lock it in now.

It shows everywhere getting snow with the arctic front. Pretty epic run.

People are already going in full weenie mode and we are finally getting something interesting to track. It definitely looks like we have a decent shot at something interesting I'm the snow/cold department in the next two weeks. Calm down everyone (Jesse).

But what if it doesn't happen? Hmmmmm.....
