February Weather in the Pacific Northwest
MR.SNOWMIZER replied to Deweydog's topic in West of the Rockies
If the 00z north trend continues I would say 2-6 inches from Eugene to Seattle will be common. -

18z has continued the trend of east and north over the 12z run. -

Its a slow moving slider that stalls the precip for some time. These can be very good. -

This has the potential to be a big event for almost everyone. The difference between the 12 and 18z is dramatic so either the nam is just crap or the models can finally see what is up. 18 gfs will be very interesting. -

I hope Portland scores. I can remember many times the snow was flying here and it was 45 and rain down there. And many of the posters from down south were happy for us. -

I can remember watching many of these sliders coming down the coast when doppler was invented. And i remember watching the moisture creep north to around Seattle more times than not. -

Sitting here thinking about Jim. I hope his dream comes true and he moves to a better climate. I know how he feels and it is no fun. -

This is the cmc gem. The trend has been to move the precip north. I bet 18z runs all show pricip field further north. -

Still only 31 here with a stiff north wind. This area does well with outflow as far as staying cold during the day. -

Any bets on precip making it as far north as Seattle? I say 80% chance. -

Many times these weak lows with little wind that are a ways of the coast creep moisture further north. It is very close to Seattle. Even an inch from Olympia north would be cool. -

Here is one of the best kept secrets for some amazing powder. Not fancy and pretty small but very fun. This is 8 miles from my cabin. http://skisitzmark.org/webcam.html -

My focus is on hr 66 of 12z. Weak low closer to wa coast. It is there on all models. Looks amazing on icon for the sound. Same track on gfs but weaker. Nam also has light snow for sound at same time. -
