  1. Totally clear here. Temp dropped to 55F currently after a late morning high of 77F.
  2. Lots of power outages in southern BC this evening. Trial island, just south of Victoria has gusted above 70mph.
  3. West wind is ramping up down the strait. Trial island is gusting near 60. Winds over southern sections of Vancouver island are more in the 30-40 range.
  4. 77F here at 11am. First signs of the west wind picking up, so temps will probably peak early today.
  5. Wind warning up for victoria BC. Expecting gusts to 55mph this afternoon.
  6. Yea, wouldn't be surprised to see some power outages, tree damage especially near the east end of the Strait
  7. Going to be an impressive wind event down the Strait of Juan de Fuca later tomorrow. (Especially considering the time of year). WRF is showing gusts in the 70mph range.
  8. What are your thoughts on the IOD turning positive. Is this going to have an effect on your thoughts for summer.
  9. Meteorological spring is pretty much over, so yes, it's going to be a quiet spring.
  10. Looking likely we see our second 70F+ day of the year here this afternoon.
  11. I had 4 customers yesterday seem downright angry about the weather this spring. And it's been drier here than most other places. It's been poor but I think people's expectations are slightly skewed by the last couple years.
  12. Water restrictions? Those come into effect on May 15th every year, regardless of the weather. At least in this area.
  13. I don't disagree. I have a feeling we probably have some chilly summers on the horizon. Not sure if I am really feeling that this year. Although a chilly start with a cool June could be in the works.
  14. Warm (open to interpretation) and dry is normal here in the summer. For our latitude, our summers are as dry as almost anywhere in NA. Victoria and southern Vancouver island is home to the driest July/August in Canada.
  15. He lives near the base of the north shore mountains. He probably knows the average better than me, but I bet it's 80"+ per year there.
