  1. Steady light snow here the past 3 hours or so. Just too light to accumulate especially with temps in the mid 30s
  2. -17F near our summer cabin up at Watch Lake BC. Melt out is only about 2 months away now.
  3. Asleep at the wheel. First flurry rolled through here around 6pm last night. They’ve just been too light to amount to much. Tuesday nights are my night out of the house so I usually don’t post much on Tuesdays unless it’s significant. yesterday afternoons 18z euro and Rgem clearly saw the precip up north. Generally less than 0.1” though.
  4. Mets had been calling for flurries here lasting through late morning. Looking back at last night’s mesoscale models most of them had some precip across southern Vancouver island and the north sound.
  5. Things look pretty wet on the webcams down in Victoria. Sounds like it was snowing this morning but not sticking.
  6. It was cloudy all night here so it never went below freezing. Just above freezing but cold enough for the snow flurries to stick.
  7. Similar here. A dusting of graupelly looking stuff
  8. Also, Tiger, Victoria YYJ did not record any measurable snow during this “cold snap,” so you likely outperformed that area.
  9. If you can identify where they are coming and going from the house, you can spread dried coffee grounds in those areas. For some reason they won’t cross it. We do this around our kitchen window occasionally in the summer. But it sounds like a bigger problem, so probably gonna have to spray as Dewey mentioned.
  10. Apart from a small portion of Vancouver island, no one in bc had snow last night.
  11. Perhaps farther south. It was 21/14 with 12” of snow at Abbotsford on this day in 1951. There was a legitimate arctic airmass across the south coast of BC for most of the first 10 Days of March that year.
  12. Close to the record from 1951. Too bad this worked out nothing like 1951 on the coast.
  13. I love the night time snow pictures you post. Your neighborhood is beautiful in the snow.
  14. Ended up with a coating of snow as the band rotated by to my south.
  15. Sticking snow is still being driven by precip rates though. It’s 35 and raining lightly here just to the north of this webcam.
  16. This webcam is on the south Shawnigan Lake road. We have nothing here at the north end. That area was bare and wet 45 min ago
  17. Absolutely demonic snowfall rates happening just south of me. I’d be more annoyed if it was still winter. Heard reports the cells over southern Vancouver island dropped up to 1” of hail in parts of Langford earlier That band turned to Snow as it lifted north
  18. We just had a decent ice pellet shower with a few flakes at the end. No thunder though.
  19. Hmmm. Some warmer and some colder than the mean. We will have to keep a close eye on that.
  20. Just 37F here with overcast skies. Looking like this will easily be the coolest day of this stretch.
  21. I had some graupel just now too. It was amazing
  22. Surely he could move somewhere with a little elevation without having to completely overhaul his work/family situation. He almost has to do it for his sanity.
  23. I assume Jim’s area got shut out as well. Poor guy, really set himself up for disappointment with this set up. He absolutely has to move.
