  1. I see today is blast from the past day. Let see how far back we’ll go.
  2. Nice joke but it needs to rain more if there are still newcomers.
  3. Record high for that day is 74. Normal is like 54. Falls right in the middle. Nice!
  4. My theory with the cottonwood and I can be completely bullshiiit here because I know absolutely nothing about trees but due to the extreme this pass June + several more warm spells + long duration of dryness caused these trees to go into hyperdrive in order to survive so they have to draw more moisture up from the ground than usual. Couple then with the fact we then have extremely wet/cool month kinda help these trees color up nicely in the fall. Enough sunshine then wet/cool. The cool part seems to be the biggest factor though. and yes, the cottonwoods do actually look decent this year compare to previous.
  5. Looks like 18z is giving Randy and Tim a nice shot at some accumulating snow over next 10 days. Looking pretty good over the passes.
  6. Have you tried planting some guernsey lily? Or do you have any fall/winter plants? We planted some this past year thinking they’re spring/summer flowers but apparently they bloom during the fall/winter. Quite beautiful! And they’re actually not that of a hassle to care for this time of year.
  7. Tim is gonna have to start taking care of that garden. Pretty sure he planted something this past weekend. Bad idea!
  8. So 12z gfs là là land shows another AR that seems to go on forever. Inside 200 hours we’ve been teetering at the edge of a windstorm and finally gets slap with one next weekend. Ahhh yes, november!
  9. Models can’t even forecast a wind event 48 hours out let alone a week.
  10. 15 or 5? interestingly, this map shows 15” at Richmond and looks like 5 at Vancouver. Vancouver and Richmond are literally in the same area.
  11. Exactly 30 years this year! Our family moved here when I was 6 years old!
  12. I had to go dig it up. I can see why… the first 2 weeks were mostly cold and chilly. 13/17 nights were below freezing. It was an impressive stretch but this type of cold does very little for me so it’s probably why I didn’t remember it. I rather it be cold and snowy than cold and sunny.
  13. October recap for SEA. Mostly cooler than average. Also set a record low and a new daily rain totals. Came very close to setting a record high as well. Rainy/wet overall.
  14. Interesting stuff with the 2005 talk this morning, even Tim had 17” in December? And mostly cold? I vaguely remember it. Did SEA somehow missed out that year or something? SEA recorded a whopping 1.8” of snow that year.
  15. You should get used to it by now that when Jim posts, he’s mostly referencing his back yard. Not even his neighbor’s yard 3 blocks away. Pfft Salem, where’s that? Lol!
  16. Is this a troll post or??? Has Jim been wanting a 2005 analog? If so, why? That winter was extremely piss poor.
  17. Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend break. Now it’s back to business as usual. What an insane 6z run, extremely wet.
  18. According to this, things gets quite interesting around mid-Nov, when the frames ends with GOA block in place. At least for us here on the west side. Second half of Nov could be quite fun. Read the entire thread, there are 3.
  19. Solar activities looks much better tonight than last night and as such, some visible northern lights. Still not far south enough. Or at least the tilt is not favorable. Current live shot at Banff just before 1AM.
  20. Historically, this month is absolutely wild... let's see if it holds true this year.
