I thought the CPC was always warm biased?

Made it to 80.8 IMBY today despite the pretty thick mid and high level clouds all day. Rain has stayed west of here so far.

I’ve never seen video of the Aurora overhead before, always just still pictures. Amazing!!

A couple more above normal days, a brief cool shot, and then back to normal temps. No real shot of rain either. It’ll be close here on the chance of any frost. Average first frost is 10/6 here. Here's my September stats from my backyard. Avg low: 57.1/+1.0 (coldest: 41.4- 28th) Avg high: 81.7/+2.6 (hottest: 100.4- 20th) Avg temp: +1.8 Precip: 1.52"/ -1.44" (-6.63" for the year) 5th consecutive month of above average temps this year. 7/9 months with above average highs for the month. Record high on the 20th of 100.4. 25/30 days with above average highs. Only 4 days with measurable precip. 4th consecutive month below average monthly precip this year. 7/9 months below average monthly precip this year.

I went back and looked at my backyard stats for the summer. Ended up with 50 days at or above 90 degrees. This included 3 days above 100 degrees. Normal is 34 days.

Yuck. Steady or expanding drought across the Plains through the end of the year. Just can't break the pattern.

The 240 hour 12Z Euro shows above normal temps through Thursday, below normal for a couple of days, and then right back to 10-20 degrees above normal here to end the run.

Yep, I’ve only had 4 days this month with any measurable precip and only 5 days with highs below normal.

We’re in one of the better stretches for no energy use in a long time here. You can see last Tuesday when it was 100, and then almost no AC and no furnace needed. Looks that way for at least the next week.

Where’s the rain? Definitely not an active weather pattern across most of the Plains.

Sounds like an amazing time. I’ll be watching the paint dry on my house though. Don’t you have any real life friends that live by you? Nvm, dumb question.
