My co-worker just said the Apple weather app says a low of 5 for next Thursday in Kent. And of course he phrased it as 'supposed to be a low of 5', which I can't even begin to describe how much I hate when people say 'supposed' about weather.

Flying up to Boise on Saturday. Looks like it will be extremely cold. Single digit lows...me likey! Mom said they got 3'' overnight in Nampa. Hopefully it can stick around til we get there.

I might have to tell the wife that the office needs me on site so I have an excuse to come up there if this continues.

They're resilient little buggers. Known to show no ill effects from nuclear tests. Not so resilient to the bottom of my shoe, though.

I was out riding a bike around the neighborhood earlier this evening and had the dog running alongside me. Saw a coyote right across the street. Didn't seem to care about us and just watched as we went by. Brother in law had a bobcat walk within 10 feet of him while on a ladder putting up lights. Bobcat was just minding his own business. I'm way more concerned about the scorpions than the coyotes and bobcats.

Little nerve wracking to have a 1 year old crawling around, but it was cool to see one finally. Just wish it wasn't inside the house.

More than I bargained for moving to AZ. That is a very tiny, very well camouflaged Arizona bark scorpion, the most venomous in North America, and somehow it got in my brother's house.

Been raining for 5 straight hours here. Has to be at least a quarter inch so far. Also running something like a -17 departure today. Long line of cars out right in front of the Safeway doors to let people load groceries close to the exit. The locals are scared of rain.

The cacti need rain periodically! The petrichor is amazing here.

Mother in law says heavy snow in Edmonds now. Radar showed precip overhead for a while before this but she said it was dry.
