  1. Back to my old stomping grounds on the north side of Atlanta (Alpharetta/Roswell.) I'm glad to have my family all back in the northern part of the state. My mom finally moved back up a few years ago after living in S. Ga for about 10-15 years. All of our family lives up there, and I never got to see them when she lived down south, as I would fly into either Albany or Tallahassee. You going to the coast?
  2. Sure! We can meet up at the Waffle House!
  3. Yeah, probably so...looking at yesterday we hit our peak temp a few times between 3 and 5.
  4. Georgia? Asheville? SouthHillfrosty's house?
  5. bouncing between 92-93 here now, I am seeing some 100 degree readings in the Frasier River valley. 86 at KBLI
  6. Lynden and Abbotsford are up to 94, its 82 at KBLI and 86 IMBY.
  7. LOL I will be in Georgia too, with a quick trip to Asheville NC thrown in the middle.
  8. Up to 82 now but inside its 70 degrees downstairs, and 73 degrees upstairs. Loving the A/C today.
  9. Got up to 86 yesterday, only down to 61 overnight, and we are already sitting at 68 IMBY. I was kind of surprised to see/hear geese flying around my neighborhood this morning, I've always thought that was more of a late August/September thing.
  10. Breezy Sunny 70 degree day so far after a low of 52. It is hot in the sun, but rather pleasant in the shade.
  11. We were lucky and got ours installed about 10 days before the big heatwave in June. It ran pretty much constantly during that period of time. For more "normal" summer weather we run it during the day (my wife and I both work from home) then once it cools below 70 in the evening we shut down the A/C and open the windows. I've found that the house gets really stuffy when we leave the A/C on/windows closed on most evenings.
  12. I'm surprised the number of housing units with A/C is that high, I expected it to be a lot lower. There is definitely an uptick in the number of houses with A/C up here in Whatcom County. When I was getting my A/C last year, the installer said they could not keep up with the demand.
  13. Man why do you have to be such a jerk with all of this *reality* crap?!?!? Please let me live in my fantasy world for a little while longer.
  14. I'll just take my 71 and sit quietly here in the back of the room. Granted it will probably be in the upper 70's a few miles inland IMBY but that's a d*mn sight better than that upper 90's/triple digit bullsh*t taking aim at a lot of the forum members.
  15. Those temps are spot on for me. If it's above 68 I don't sleep nearly as well as when its below. We have our thermostat set to 64 during sleep hours at night in the winter. For the summer, now that we have A/C, we run the A/C at 70, then shut it off when the outside temp=inside temp, then we turn it off and crank up the whole house fan. I'm about to go to sleep, and the temp is 67 inside. Perfect. We except for at night, we pretty much keep the thermostat set to 70.
  16. Drizzly breezy cool fall morning out there this morning. Actually had to put a coat on to take the puppy out for a walk. Not complaining though, sounds like the heat will be back on tomorrow. Currently 56
  17. You're good, that had to be an absolutely sh*tty f*cked up thing to witness. Too bad those customers didn't get ahold of him. I'm also impressed with the restraint of our fellow forum members from steering clear of the political aspect.
  18. My initial experiences with dentists were with old school dentists in rural small town Georgia. I had to have some extractions then, and it was downright brutal, I had a lot of "PTSD" after that. As a teenager I needed a filling, and it took 2-3 times as long as it needed to because I was so freaked out. I had explained my experience, and they were really awesome about helping me get through it, and I have a much easier time with things since then. Severa years ago I had a crown and root canal, and it sucked, but I was able to get through it without destroying the chair or biting the dentist's fingers off.
  19. My "office" is down in Huntington Beach, and the corporate headquarters is in France, which is where the VPN sometimes runs through. My location services get rather confused, especially when IT does an update and overrides my preferences. Back in May when we were rainy and in the 40's with snow at pass levels, my weather icon showed 91.....down in LA LOL!
  20. Got down to 55 this morning, currently 79 and not a cloud in the sky. It was 81 at one point. Just enough of a breeze to keep it from being too uncomfortable.
  21. Ugh....hopefully it will go better that mine. Mine were horribly impacted to the point of a couple were turned sideways, so I was knocked completely out. Right before my surgery I was told a horror story from a friend about still being awake when they started. I went in for my surgery, and they gave me the night-night juice, I counted from 100 to about 90 before I stopped but I was still aware of what was going on. I heard one of the techs say "is he ready" and I shouted "I'm AWAKE! I'm AWAKE!!" I saw someone grab my IV lead and heard the squeak of a knob, and the next thing I remember is sitting on a bench with a mouthful of gauze laughing my a** off. They gave me my teeth in a jar, 2 were whole, 2 were in tiny pieces. Doc said it was one of the toughest extractions he had done, lots of swelling and bruising afterwards. My wife on the other hand, it was no issue, barely any bleeding or swelling afterwards. Her dentist was also top notch, which probably helped.
  22. Nothing good ever happens in a 4 hour dentist appointment....you have my sympathies....
