  1. Compared to previous runs ridge is stronger and more amplified. Thus far energy between date line and 150 W is weaker.
  2. It looks like the Pivotal site might be running slow again just like last night. Well, that's gay.
  3. LOL fantastic. Yeah it will be nice to see snow levels lowering.
  4. Chunky like.... Oprah/Rain mixed, or Rosie O'Donnell splats on windshield? 00z GFS in 2 minutes!
  5. Certainly some nice improvements on 18z GEFS.
  6. Busy day. I will likely be here for 00z runs this evening though. 00z GFS in 3 hours 00z CMC in 3 hours 45 minutes 00z ECMWF in 5 hours 21 minutes
  7. 12/1/17 6z GFS 500mb Composite Analogs Day 6-10, 8-14 Very nice improvement Day 8-14 - The positive anomaly is forecast to retrograde to roughly 150 W with an incredibly amplified block anchored over south central Alaska. This would give southern Alaska very high 500mb heights. If the block were to tilt any we would see a major blast. In this configuration we'd likely see modified arctic air into eastern Washington/Columbia Basin. I would be more confident if we had a ridge over the southeast/midwest. Some cold years showing up! 12z GFS in 3 hours 31 minutes! http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/predictions/short_range/tools/gifs/500hgt_comp_06gfs610.gif http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/predictions/short_range/tools/gifs/500hgt_comp_06gfs814.gif
  8. I only saw Mark say ridging through week 2. East winds for at least a week! 6z GFS in 45 minutes
  9. Oh? Does the block retrograde, or flatten with new Aleutian block setting up 160-150 W?
  10. Day 10 http://maps1.pivotalweather.com/maps/models/ecmwf/2017120100/240/500h_anom.na.png
  11. Day 9 (double checks) Yep http://maps1.pivotalweather.com/maps/models/ecmwf/2017120100/216/500h_anom.na.png
  12. Day 8 block not holding as sturdy as GFS/CMC Op http://maps1.pivotalweather.com/maps/models/ecmwf/2017120100/192/500h_anom.na.png
  13. Wow. Yeah it is. What the heck happened there. Day 6 http://maps1.pivotalweather.com/maps/models/ecmwf/2017120100/144/500h_anom.na.png
  14. Day 7 http://maps1.pivotalweather.com/maps/models/ecmwf/2017120100/168/500h_anom.na.png
  15. 00z CMCE Ensembles still not quite on board with GFS keeping the ridge axis 130 W to just along the Coast.
  16. Day 6 http://maps1.pivotalweather.com/maps/models/ecmwf/2017120100/024/500h_anom.na.png
  17. Columbia Basin cold pool looks pretty D**n cold on 00z GEFS
  18. Day 5 http://maps1.pivotalweather.com/maps/models/ecmwf/2017120100/120/500h_anom.na.png
  19. 00z ECMWF a bit colder through day 4. Would really like to see this run feature the strong block by day 6-7 as the GFS is now consistently doing.
