  1. It has been drizzling all day here in Salem. I doubt where I am there has been more than a couple hundredths. SLE has picked up 0.05" so far.
  2. I wish we could just talk about the weather without all getting butthurt due to our personal preferences. And then others could show some restraint at least when that invariably happens...
  3. Some of the stuff posted on here today is beyond stupid.
  4. At least Western Oregon managed to pull off a below average month. Hopefully it isn't like last year where February and March were the only two below average months during the year. Pendleton had a -9.5 monthly departure.
  5. They are which I have mixed opinions about too. I don't like it when we start regulating who can and cannot access public lands. I would prefer they improve infrastructure and/or publicize other great under utilized places to spread out the crowd.
  6. I haven't noticed any trees leafed out. Just budding. I was shocked by Tim's pics from tropical North Bend. But to be honest I don't pay much attention. It's spring, the trees .leaf out...Happens every year.
  7. This has felt like a fairly normal spring here outside of 1 very warm week. I guess Spring 2015 and 2016 were radically different up there?
  8. Such an amazing day today. I got nothing done in the yard, but it turned out better than expected. Had an old childhood friend come by and we just talked the day away while the kids played in the yard. The deer came right up into the lawn too and the kids got a kick out of that. This is definitely my favorite season.
  9. 12z looks a little wetter next week. Not that we need it down here in Oregon.
  10. Pretty meager up north. Kind of the inverse of what we have seen as the rule over the past several years.
  11. Nice day out there. Looking at the snow pack numbers this morning. They still look fantastic. John Day and Goose Lake Basin are now 167% of normal. S. Oregon Cascades bumped up to 119%.
  12. Looking at stream flows in E. Oregon, most of the rivers are pretty high. Normal flows are in parenthesis. Owyhee at Rome: 3850 CFS (2070) Umatilla at Umatilla: 3450 (1130) John Day at Service Creek: 9230 (3740) The John Day is actually flowing higher McDonald Ferry (13,000 CFS) than the Willamette at Albany (11,000 CFS).
  13. Went outside a bit ago when my wife left for work and it was raining. Surprised to see that.
  14. It is interesting because the trees in North Bend look way further along than the trees down in Salem. But I guess since February 11th it has been quite a bit warmer up there. No real signs of spring foliage here, but my front lawn has started to grow a bit.,
  15. Next week looks pretty wet on the 18z with rainy days Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Long range looks pretty dry.
  16. Wet weather the past few days has bumped snowpack in the Southern Oregon Cascades to 118% of normal. The John Day Basin is now at 165% of normal. Pretty incredible. Snow pack usually peaks April 1 I believe so now its just about avoiding any extended periods of very warm weather. Hopefully we have a normal spring, if so we should be in decent shape.
  17. Was sunny at home this morning when I left for work. Low clouds and fog here in Salem until about 11a. Those echoes are more over the West Cascades, the western edge is like 20 miles east of where i live.
  18. I am looking forward to mowing and completing other yard projects tomorrow.
