  1. Joseph Oregon recorded 33.1" of snow in February and ended the month with a 16" depth. They have records going back to 1893. The snow records are fairly complete from 1893-1954 and again from 1995-present. February 2019 is now the snowiest February they have recorded.
  2. The wind kept up well past midnight. It was still 52 up here at midnight with offshore flow, very rare here. It has dropped off now and it is down to 42.
  3. Well they dropped a degree. Downsloping may have just caused them to peak a little early...Still within striking distance though.
  4. Salem at 75 as of 2pm! Already a record high and closing in quickly on the all-time March record of 80.
  5. It was interesting. Even though it only got down to 40 last night the snow was still hard and crusted over this morning.
  6. Pretty crazy all our negative anomalies this month will be wiped out by the end of the week. Oh well. Still a throwback cold first half of the month. And Central and NE Oregon will have great negative anomalies to show for it...
  7. Kind of grappling with some heavy topics today. Does the record heat today and tomorrow tarnish the stretch we just went through or make it that much more special? And in some ways was this complete flip inevitable, just as March 1960 and 1951 saw quite a bit of warm weather later on in the month.
  8. Salem up to an incredible 68 already. Mid to high 70s look likely there. Salem is probably another sensor that needs to be checked while we are on the topic. They've run warm for 5-6 years it seems... Looks like an inversion has developed over Central Oregon with temps there only in the mid-30s. Still some very impressive lows east side this morning.
  9. Sensor at PDX went out this morning and had to be replaced...Apparently the 70 degree reading at 915a was not accurate.
  10. Beautiful evening. The front lawn is emerging, the rest of the yard will soon follow.
  11. Interestingly the record highs PDX is going to be threatening are from 1960.
  12. Yeah, southern Idaho did not have a notably cold February. Northern Idaho did.
  13. Sun is really doing some work today on the snow. I think by Tuesday we'll be done with the solid snow cover. It will linger in the shade for quite some time...
