  1. I could see this winter going down as a pretty lame winter, a 2000-01 type dud. But I doubt we end up in the 2002-03 or 2014-15 ballpark.
  2. I believe you have pointed out correctly, that the models have been all over the place in the long range.
  3. January 1982 wasn't bad. Kind of a 80s version of January 2007.
  4. I daydream about moving to lots of different places, but then I realize its not really about where you live, but how you live. If I'm unhappy here, I'll be unhappy wherever I go next. So if I start feeling restless, it's not the place that needs to change, its me.
  5. I definitely prefer the GFS solution, not like we're actually going to have arctic air in January.
  6. Given how shitty 2018 was for cold anomalies that almost feels like a win.
  7. So the GFS wants to give us a winter, EURO says not so fast?
  8. Corvallis had a storm total of 15", Salem had 14" on the month, 12" on the 19th.
  9. Last I checked at least most places were tracking well cooler than 2015. Plus December is not looking like a torch.
  10. 6.6" for February 1993 is pretty lame. Glad they made up some of that disparity 25 years later.
  11. Not over performing, EUG is probably ALWAYS 3-5 degrees colder than the urban core on a clear night. Their 12th freeze. I'm up to 13.
  12. Last night Mark Nelsen said on Facebook he wouldn't be surprised to see some upper teens in the usual outlying cold spots later this week. He thinks most people will be 22-28 Wednesday-Friday morning. That's why he went with a couple lows of 25 even though he doubts PDX will hit 25.
  13. Yes! Nice to have it feel like winter out there, right on cue!
  14. Welcome to the forum. Good to have an Idaho poster.
  15. Overall typical December fare. http://old.wetterzentrale.de/pics/MT8_Portland_Oregon_USA_ens.png
  16. Currently clear and 28. Both GFS and FV3 aren't bad in the long range. Would drop the first accumulating snow of the year up here around the 14/15th.
  17. If we don't ditch this split flow at some point I could see this turning into a relatively cool, but frustratingly inactive winter.
