  1. I had to deal with the same thing. I think its because a lot of national news sites had headlines talking about a blizzard in Seattle due to the Blizzard warning from NWS Seattle for the cascades.
  2. I think that was either last year or the year before. I remember expecting a decent dump of snow and it started out nice but once the low came inland it pulled a bunch of warm air up and turned to rain for me and most of the Seattle metro area. Come to think of it, that has happened quite a bit in my 40+ years of hoping for snow. Those events always make people disregard the snow forecasts for the remainder of the season, then get caught surprised when the next one hits.
  3. I was planning on spending today winterizing and covering spigots. After seeing the latest model runs, I think I might have to take one for the team here. If I avoid winterizing, then surely we will get a foot of snow and a week of below freezing temps. I will sacrifice my pipes for the cause. Wish me luck.
  4. My pessimistic side is kinda expecting that, to be honest. Dry bitter cold for a few days, no real snow, then an overrunning event that starts as snow but eventually turns to rain. That would be my luck.
  5. Seems like everything is beginning to trend positively for most. Snow chances are good, cold seems like it won't be the pipe-freezing catastrophe earlier models were showing, but still cold enough to keep snow in the forecast for a few days, and now models seem to like the idea of snow starting sooner than most advertised previously. I'm content with this trend.
  6. They seem to be trying to get ahead of this one already which is kinda scary, tbh. We always get one big rug pull to start the season most years, that way no one ever trusts them again for the rest of the season. Hopefully the abnormal set up and el nino situation make this year different and this one ends up being the real deal. Fingers crossed.
  7. Isn't that pretty common for you guys out there in these fringe events? I know it is for Hoodsport, Shelton, etc. so I just figured same applied to West Kitsap.
  8. Seems to be back to mostly rain here. Still see an occasional flake, but temp is back up to 34 after bottoming out around 32.5 That was fun and unexpected, considering I expect this winter to be mostly boring.
  9. Been absolutely dumping here. Big flakes and just now starting to stick. Temp was about 37 when it started and down to 33.4 now.
  10. Ok, now it's absolutely dumping. Possibly hardest snowfall here so far this season.
