  1. I hope so! I'm in a semi arid climate so it's always interesting. So glad I didn't move to Tri Cities though. Was close to buying a house in Grangeville, ID if this place had fallen through.
  2. 34F. Temperature slightly rising. Looks like fog may be rolling in from the west. My wife does not want snow but I really need something more than just .60 for the season. Please. I realize that's more than some have had this season but you won't mind me asking.
  3. Which direction is the smoke blowing from today, California, Oregon, BC, or Montana? Will the haze keep us from scoring 100 today? Did I forget to pack the car for the fourth and or buy my wife a birthday present?
  4. Watch as Moses Lake still gets more than me lol. But that map would be infuriating if I lived there and it was closer.
  5. Well if I get skunked I will be grateful for cold but it's not as fun. I was looking at old photos of our son tonight and I just wish I could get a 2020-2021 winter at my location. That was the best here although not as great as 2019 when I was in Stanwood during the Snowpocalypse. That 2020 winter was amazing here but I didn't know how to measure snow so I have no records.
  6. Please be nice, but my weather station has stopped recording the outside conditions with blanks where temp, humidity, air pressure would be shown. But it still gives the time and indoor temperature. Does this mean I need to replace the batteries on the outside part?
  7. It will never happen but this would be the best snow map for my location in at least 2 years if it were true. This year has just been nothing on the maps or reality and the previous year was a ton of marginal/borderline events.
  8. 32F on this Christmas Eve night. Today was very consistant. It was about 33.5F around 2pm today.
  9. Had some moderate rain on my drive home from CDA to my location. Had the rain switch to non sticking snowfall on the higher hills of SR 127 on the Whitman County side of the Snake SW of Colfax.
  10. Agreed. It was super hard telling my son that his grandmother died on Saturday. He is now on winter break so I surprised him at the half day and told him that the two of us were going on a trip. I took him to CDA and we did the Lake Couer D'Alane holiday cruise if anyone has done it before. He was the happiest I've seen in the last month. My wife was at the hospital across the street from our hotel for two weeks but she came to the skilled nursing facility five minutes from us. She's recovering and is glad to be in our town. The only day this winter that we had any snow was the day of her car accident.
  11. Are you from Astoria???? I miss living in Clatsop Co.
  12. Not happening. The map shows the Tri Cities area getting way more than Spokane. Tri Cities is probably the most shadowed place in WA.
  13. Yessir. We're semi arid but to the west the precipitation drops off quite a bit once you get closer to the Tri Cities. I'm always right on the edge between precip/snow and nothing at all.
  14. .99 inches in about twelve hours is a lot here. No snow.
  15. Those are some fantastic photos! What is Frosty the snowman's name?
  16. Looks like M's fans won't see Blue Ohtani jerseys when Canada comes to visit for their takeover series.
  17. Someone at NWS Spokane reads this forum. I never heard the phrase "winter cancel" until this forum. This is from the winter spotter newsletter for NWS Spokane.
  18. How's the Ark and Ride (Stanwood Park and Ride II) near Rite Aid?
  19. I agree. I think it's worse than Tacoma /Fife because you all still have moisture whereas Tri Cities is super rain shadowed. Depending how much they have.
  20. Yet, I'm still in that tiny hole near the banana slug.
  21. Had .5 today to add to my .10 total. While I was measuring the snow I got a call from a paramedic and my wife who spun out due to some ice or snow on Alpowa Summit although the road was clear when I drove out there. They went right around the time that late morning/early PM band went right throug SE WA and slammed into a car and the rail. Her and my MIl are in the hospital in Lewiston tonight. I'm home with my son who is thrilled that I'm letting him play SIMS tonight. MIL has a severed spinal cord and paralyzed and is being flown to Boise. My wife may get flown elsewhere with ankle and bone injuries. She has it rough but better. On a weather note the winds are picking up before tomorrow's windstorm and the snow has become rain.
