February 2024 Weather in the PNW

I'd be happy with 2.5 inches of snow for my location, in that run. -

After the Euro releases, can someone post a snow map for OR and WA? -

That's why my wife asked me why I keep planning trips in February. Hard to argue against a school calendar that gives 5 days (including weekends). We ordered rain boots for my7 year old and sent them to CA since we have snow boots but not rain. EIther way CA will be wet! I was looking at the newest Canadian for CA and wow, if that verified, they would be slammed for several days of rain. Maybe snow for @AlTahoe although the latest GFS is better for us and for him if he wants snow. Selfishly I want snow mid week here with a break so I can drive to Spokane late morning on Fri and clear on Tuesday so I can go home. Hoping that big snowstorm in the clown range (2 weekends from now) verifies. -

Unusual to see my area torching while you coastal folks are in the freezer. Of course that's normal from May-September. -

It's almost like a mini version of 2020-2021's Winter. It was really great from Colfax south that year but Spokane still had some decent events. What are you at this year? 14.1 for my total this year. 2021 we probably had somewhere between 20-25 (which is really good for here but posts from that Dec were deleted here so I don't have a complete record)and 2020 was even better but no measurements. Our avg precipitation for my town is about 17 inches based on climate data. This is my fourth winter here though. -

Had 0.30 last night. No photo because one of our indoor cats, snuck out when I was going to take a few photos. I had to look for him later after dropping my son off my school. I am half expecting a Facebook page post about some man snooping around multiple times in their yard and carpark lol. Brought him back after about 40 mins of him being out. But we now have more snow than last year. The nearby WU station is at 32F. -

Is there a total snowfall map for WA/OR for the run yet? Interesting run. Any regional maps for the Ensemble? I'll ask again after the Euro runs. -

GFS wants to give me snow on Vday and the next day. I'm hoping for a snow map after the run is done. -

Apologies if this has been posted already but a LA Nina watch has been issued. 41F and overcast today. Had some light showers overnight. No thunder but a 100% chance of loud purring from my cat who plopped himself in between my arms at the moment. -

I don't remember what they said but I remember they volunteered that they weren't getting any roosters. The husband works for the city's public works department and says they are technically against city rules but they know some people who keep them. -

Thank you. I'm even okay if they measure from a slightly different spot (of my choosing) or north facing instead of south but it kind of defeats the purpose if not on our property or even a neighbor's (both of whom have dogs). My FIL is slightly lower (again 30-50 ft of very gradual change) isn't a huge difference but he's also by a creek so I think he's actually in a colder hardiness zone by half. Either way, I care about the measurements. We had our almost 6 inch snowstorm so I don't mind sharing the wealth or missing out. Just want someone to measure. Spouse will be staying at his house since she's still recovering. Now I just have to convince one of the teens to do it and explain how snow measuring works. -

I'll be on a trip to CA and it shows me getting the white stuff...it's how it goes right?????? More for measuring purposes than missing anything good if that makes sense. How much would be a fair price to pay our neighbor's teens to measure the snow 1-2x a day and send a photo to me? Wife says I should just have her dad measure at his house, 1 mile away (same elevation) but I told her it wouldn't be the same thing. -

My neighbor spent all weekend building a chicken coop. They want to add chickens. The coop will be just on the other side of the fence. They actually asked our permission in September last year and we were surprised and honored they asked. They might bribe us with eggs too. They had been wanting to do it for years so recent WA politics were only a very small factor. Wife wants to have the chickens visit our yard to get bugs but not sure I want chicken poop in it. -

Not to mention lack of services as hospitals north of Kootenai Health in CDA. Bonner's Ferry would be pretty cool but it's almost as far from Spokane as my location. CDA a bit closer. They have trouble passing school levys though. It is about 40F here currently. Living vicariousy through the CA weather pages I follow since it's pretty dull here. -

You know an El Nino pattern is setting up when this page is relatively quiet (but not deserted) and WW is the site I am refreshing instead. I'm originally from there and have family still living in the area so it gives me something to be excited for. Maybe @Anti Marine Layer will enjoy his shower outside. -

52F outside and overcast. Spouse came home from the hospital yesterday so we joked that she didn't miss a month because her accident was the first day of December when it snowed here and came home the last day of Jan. Son has a weird ailment that is making him sick when he eats a bite or two of food so I'll have to get him examined next week. ER wasn't concerned last night. It's actually pleasant outside, a bit cooler than it has been but not bad. Last night I dreamed that I met some acquaintance or family member of @MossMan and that I tried to explain that on this weather site we call him moss man and he loves the summer sunshine because of his boats. Then I woke up. -

52F right now with sun. Warmer because my favorite cat is sleeping on my legs. Gotta go to the restroom soon but it's nice and toasty when he sleeps on me. -

Overcast morning here. Taking a quiet day today after yesterday's Cougar basketball game vs Colorado. With my son being sick the only plan is to catch the football games today.
