  1. Why is the 00z Euro done running at 10:07?
  2. This pattern unfortunately came too late. As much as I hope otherwise I don't think there will be any widespread accumulation below 500 ft.
  3. I bet the top of Baker got over 65 inches in 24 hours from this storm. Temps have probably been in the lower teens there given the temps at Camp Muir and I wound assume they received the same amount of precip if not more.
  4. The snowfall rate is over 3 inches an hour right now the snow depth has went from 44-50 inches in the last 2 hours
  5. Hurricane Ridge is getting a ton of snow https://nwac.us/weatherdata/map/#/4.
  6. Yeah no real chance of accumulating lowland snow though. Great for the mountains.
  7. Snowpack is really abysmal going to be a tough year for the glaciers
  8. For WA I don't see what was so great about the GFS and GEM less mountain snow and less lowland snow.
  9. Actually sub 40 probabilities are much lower that's the probability the min temp in that 6-hour range is below 40
  10. This is really a horrible winter like 2014-2015. Only bright spot was the cold snap. Snowpack is crazy low, and the glaciers will likely suffer another terrible year but unlike the last 3 the snowpack to begin is terrible.
  11. Here's a really interesting website with a lot of photos of old glaciers on the West Coast. Crazy how much some glaciers have retreated. Glaciers of Washington | Glaciers of the American West
  12. This Jan cold snap was really impressive for the coldest inhabited place in WA, Mazama. They reached -29. Only 3 winters have recorded a temp below -29 68-69, 83-84 and 78-79.
  13. Some people are acting like it's March. It's only January 20th and long-range forecasts have terrible accuracy. Way too early to write off February.
  14. The great thaw of 2024 to be followed by a 2019 style February
  15. I am guessing the coldest part of the state is in some valley near Remmel Mountain
  16. 2024 joins 1950, 1955, 1964, 1968, 1969, 1989, and 1990 as the only years to have a high of 22 or lower at SeaTac
