  1. Well there's always our now yearly smoke events.
  2. Mark Nelsen's old blog posts, he posts some model forecasts usually before an event. Expect Some Snow Tonight | FOX 12 Weather Blog (wordpress.com)
  3. It started to snow today 6 years ago. This was the WRF-GFS forecast. Euro Forecast: And this is what happened: It snowed a few inches after this as well. And then it lasted for a week. PDX dropped had a 29/11 day and HIO had a 25/3 day with all of the snow on the ground.
  4. Hoping we can score some snow, even just a few inches. The cold in December was really nice, we had a 23/20 day, easily the coldest since 2014. But some snow would be nice
  5. Maybe we'll reach the record number of 100 degree days in a year for the third year in a row...
  6. This doesn't looks bad at all. Looks like that ridge is retrograding. SE Ridge too. Euro Weeklies also show a similar pattern, and the MJO is probably going to go into phase 2 which is cold for us. I think early February is a good bet for something decent.
  7. I thought it was mostly a central/south valley snow event, but it looks like the Beaverton COOP station recorded 7.5" of snow that month. 4.5" of snow going into the cold and then another 3" with the second snowfall
  8. Seems like they've always been kind of boom/bust. Basically nothing in 2010/2011, 4-8" in late March 2012, nothing in 2012/2013. Then 7" of snow on the ground for over a week with a 19/-10 day in December 2013 and a good 8" snowstorm on February 2014. Nothing in 2014/2015 and 2015/2016. Decent amount of snow in 2016/2017 (around 9" I think?). Barely anything next winter. Huge 20" snowstorm in Feb 2019, nothing in 2020/2021 and then a 10" wet snowstorm in 2021/2022. Something that surprised me was the Eugene's highest snow depth is also higher than Portland's or Seattle's.
  9. Well they're the only ones with a 19/-10 day this century in W WA or OR.
  10. February 2011/2014/2017/2018/2019/2021/2022 repeat
  11. Yeah I think there might've been thunder there but nothing here at least. I'm really hoping for a good thunderstorm outbreak this spring/summer/fall. We had a huge downpour if 2" in an hour on 9/8/2019, a tornado a few miles away on 9/7/2019 and then an amazing thunderstorm with huge hail and a bunch of lightning on 7/1/2019. I don't remember much since, besides some thunder in March 2021, a lightning strike in the distance this August and a loud rumble of thunder this September. I might've been asleep for some other events.
  12. 53/39 today at PDX. Sunny for a lot of the day with some heavy rain and very windy in the morning but unfortunately no thunder
  13. Just had some sun, then a downpour and now more sun. Feels like spring. Hoping we can get some thunder as well
  14. Early February 2014 would be great! 6-18" of snow throughout the Willamette Valley. I had around 10" and a 22/18 day
  15. Even here at most we've seen power flickering the past few years due to weather. Power was fine during the strong east wind last week. Last time we lost power was during the February 2021 ice storm and that was very brief. But on this forum it seems like people are losing power every other week, even in similar conditions
  16. Felt like spring today with the sun and downpours. Warmest day of the month at PDX at 54 as well
  17. Decent amount of sun breaks here right now just like yesterday. Saw a nice rainbow yesterday in the afternoon
