  1. I’m sure it’s MUCH colder in Covington this morning.
  2. Got down to 33 this morning and saw some frost on the rooftops. Winter is BACK!
  3. Looks like we finished January with 7.68” of rain…not too bad. 0.11” so far this morning in Tacoma.
  4. Yeah, it was pretty interesting to swing from historic cold to historic warmth. Could’ve done without the warmth part…but statistically speaking it was pretty wild and interesting to see.
  5. Aliens. In all seriousness the industrial age and the advancements of technology in the late 19th and 20th centuries is fascinating.
  6. Lol so you’re saying it’s over? Wish you were wrong but honestly I feel like it’s over as well personally below 1000’.
  7. Yeah, if I had to pick a time in which to be born id pick the 1940s-1950s. Post WW2…lots of technological and scientific advancement and pre social media. The 1950s-1990s sounds like a great time to be alive for someone who was born in 1999.
  8. Sometimes I feel like it would’ve been nice to live in simpler technology free times. Then I remember the life expectancy was about half of what it is now back then. Modern medicine and science is a blessing and a curse I guess.
  9. That would be a great spot for that. It sounds like you’ve lived here and worked hard for a long time. You should go for the off the grid lifestyle if that’s what you want you’re earned it.
  10. Maybe his preferences require more snow but I’d love to live where he does. I don’t want to live in an overly snowy place where it’s 24/7 but a location out on the kitsap peninsula, near Randy up north or even Shawnigan lake would be perfect for me.
  11. Y’all got a decent winter event atleast…north of Everett did good also. Wouldn’t really call it a regional dud.
  12. Up to 0.07” this morning and 7.60” MTD. Should finish close to 8” this month after 8.61” in December.
  13. Comparatively speaking we’ve been much cooler than SEA. They hit 4 in a row (potentially) but we only hit 60 once here IMBY.
  14. We have had another above average rainfall month here at 7.53” MTD…so atleast I’ve got that going for me lol
  15. 58/50 today. We only have hit 60 once here the last 4 days but still have had 4 consecutive days +58F with what should be another warm max temp tomorrow. Pretty crazy warmth. Today’s also day #9 in a row with a +50 high.
  16. Yeah…unless we get something in the next few weeks the snowless part feels like a dud. I think the Arctic blast will be more appreciated in the future even by Puget sounders. The details just didn’t work out for us…but many people in the region besides us did pretty well with the blast. It was extremely top tier even without the snow. It’s definitely the best Arctic blast I’ve seen in my lifetime not even close really.
  17. I think the more controversial part isn’t the fact that the planet is warming…but how much of an impact humans are having on it. It seems pretty undeniable that the planet is warming.
  18. More than a gut feeling…also El Niño climo which is giving me the gut feeling. Also just the incredible February run has to end eventually.
  19. No denying the earth is warming. Although to a few people that’s a controversial opinion
  20. Yeah I’m hoping for that as well at some point. We could use a lot more snow up in the mountains. Sometimes we just get years where we just get terrible snowpack though. Not every year can be 125%+ snowpack across the board. Hopefully we can get to like 90-100% atleast by the time mid April arrives.
  21. Not saying it’s impossible just not feeling something this year. El Niño climo goes against it. Not to mention we’ve been below normal in February for 7 straight years. 7 years with measurable snowfall as well. This seems like the year we see a 2016 type of February…we’re due for it. LR guidance shows the exact opposite pattern you would want to see for lowland snow the first half of February. We have a 5-6 week window unless some type of anomalous late March or April event somehow happens again. The first 2 weeks of that 5-6 week window are not looking good…and it only gets harder to get snow after Valentine’s Day. It can happen but I just don’t think this is the year it will.
  22. Normally I’d wait until late February to stick a fork in winter…but it feels like it’s over in the lowlands. February is hard to bet against but I really don’t think there’s going to be any late season magic coming. Doesn’t mean the mountains won’t get a week or two of good snows at some point though.
  23. I actually really want to move to the bend area. Of all the places around the PNW central Oregon is my favorite.
